As some of you are aware, our gorgeous Tanja has been battling the beast that is breast cancer since August. In usual Tanja fashion she is smashing it!!!

She is now demonstrating yet again what a legend she is and is completing a triathalon to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. She is competing this right before her last of 16 rounds of chemotherapy! Any donations, big or small, would be greatly appreciated!

She is an amazing woman and we are so so proud of her and how she is approaching this fight! We can’t wait to get her back when she is fighting fit again!

I was diagnosed with breast cancer back in August and have been having treatment since then. My particular tumour type is invasive and aggressive, but recent research discovered a new targeted drug therapy that has changed the prognosis to curative. Amazing! One of my oncology nurses told me about Tr...

7 years ago today I started this little business. 7 years of hard work and so many gorgeous, little people (and their amazing families) who we have had the privilege of working with and seeing grow stronger.

I would never have imagined then that we’d be dealing with the challenges that we are. I am incredibly grateful to still have a business (let’s be honest, my baby) in this time when everyone is doing it so tough.

Thank you to the wonderful, passionate and talented crew of physios who work with me - Tanja, Clare, Brooke and Ruth - it’s been beyond amazing to see our little team grow and to have you all with me in this.

And a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us over these past 7 years - and in particular these last few super challenging months.

We miss seeing your beautiful smiling faces in person, but we know this is the right thing to keep us all safe. In the meantime, we’re still here, just on the other side of the computer screen 🙂 Xoxo.

To all our Grow Strong families! Sending massive hugs (of the non-touching variety!) to you all! We want you to know, we’re doing our bit by doing all we can to help keep your kids healthy at this time.

Part of keeping kids healthy, is considering the effects on their mental health at this stressful time. As we know children will easily detect when their parents are stressed and will have been exposed to media images and general conversations etc.

Assoc Prof Brigid Jordan (Renowned paediatric social worker and infant mental health clinician) has collated some advice and resources which may be helpful for parents and families:

1. Switch off the news... watch it online out of earshot of children

2. Visit this website for a great comic on Coronavirus and kids: https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2020/02/28/809580453/just-for-kids-a-comic-exploring-the-new-coronavirus.

3. If you are self-isolating due to concerns over Coronavirus, have a look at some of these pages:

Positioning babies on their stomachs helps prevent flattening of the head and strengthens neck, trunk and shoulder muscles, as well as hands.
