COPING WITH COVID
The COVID-19 outbreak is stressing out all of us.
It’s a uncertain time for your employees – and employers are likely to feel the weight of responsibility, all while trying to manage their own stress and anxiety.
Bringing calm to the workplace can help company’s most valuable assets. Taking care of yourself and others can help you cope with stress and also make your community stronger.
Here are some things you and your team can do to take care of your emotional and physical health:
* Reduce news exposure. Take breaks from watching, reading, or listening to news stories, including social media. Repeatedly hearing updates about the pandemic can be upsetting.
* Take care of your body. Eat well, exercise, meditate and get plenty of sleep.
* Take breaks. Reserve time to unwind and do activities you enjoy.
* Connect with people who you trust. Share your concerns and feelings by phone or video chat with a family member or friend
* Employers can listen and empathise, and remind your employees about available benefits that could help them, such as free counseling sessions that may be offered.
