On Anzac Day, we pause to acknowledge the significance of the day and honour those who served and sacrificed for our country.

This morning at the Eltham Dawn Service, Roz Sandwell, Executive – Wellbeing and Prevention, laid a wreath on behalf of healthAbility, standing alongside the community in remembrance. The wreath was thoughtfully created by Flower Scentsation.

We thank Montmorency Eltham RSL for the opportunity to be part of this important day.
Lest we forget.

Things got a little wild when some of our Children's, Youth and Family team members - Georgia, Emma C, Samantha and Emma T, took on Guess the Animal 🐾😄

They’re just some of the friendly faces in our multidisciplinary team, which includes speech pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, dietitians and parenting specialists, all working together to support families with a wide range of needs.

We’re currently offering a free 15-minute phone consultation until the end of June 2026 for families with an NDIS plan or who are self-funding, so you can see if we’re the right fit for your family.

If you have concerns about your child’s communication, behaviour or emotional wellbeing and development, we're here to help.

A special shoutout too to our amazing volunteer Renee, who is always helping source donations and support this work behind the scenes.

Donations of non-perishable food and essential items are always welcome at our Eltham location to help keep the Community Cupboard stocked for those who need it.

A Minute for Mindfulness 🌿

Angie, Team Leader Counselling – Mental Health Counselling and Youth, shares a gentle mindfulness tip to help bring you back to the present.

Step outside, take a breath, and notice the fresh air, flowers or leaves around you. Using smell as a grounding tool can help create a small moment of calm in a busy day.

At healthAbility, our mental health services are person-centred and designed to support people at different stages of life and wellbeing, with services including counselling, psychology, youth mental health support, parenting and carer support, and after-hours mental health nursing.

Contact us to find out more about our mental health services.

Save this post for later or send it to someone who might find it helpful.

healthAbility was excited to join a health roundtable with Premier Jacinta Allan, MP for Box Hill, Paul Hamer MP, representatives from local health providers, advocates and health workers. We had valuable discussions on improving access to services, infrastructure gaps, health worker burnout and local needs linked to liver health, dementia and prostate cancer support. We also talked about how to better promote new services designed to take pressure off our hospitals, like Urgent Care Clinics, Chemist Care Now and Virtual Emergency Care.
