Yin yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and strong yang styles of yoga. Unlike yang yoga which targets the muscles, yin yoga targets the connective tissues such as the ligaments and joints. Practising both forms allows the body to experience optimal balance and wholeness. One cannot exist without the other, just as the light cannot be understood without experiencing the dark.
