A lot of women in their 30s and 40s put changes down to stress, busyness or getting older, but sometimes it’s actually perimenopause starting. Changes can begin earlier than you might expect.
And in small towns, it’s easy to brush it off or think “I’ll just tough it out.” But ignoring the signs can leave you feeling exhausted and frustrated, when instead you could feel supported and prepared.
Here are 3 early clues I want rural women to know about:
1️⃣ Brain fog – struggling to remember what you came into the room for, or losing your train of thought mid-conversation.
3️⃣ Mood shifts, irritability, anxiety or feeling flat for no obvious reason.
5️⃣ Changes in periods, cycles getting shorter, longer, heavier or more unpredictable. This is why it's important to track your cycle.
If these sound familiar, it’s not “just stress,” and you’re not “too young.” These are some of the earliest signs that your hormones are starting to shift.
The good news? There’s so much you can do early on to make your transition smoother, from testing to food to small lifestyle tweaks that work even in rural life.
