Whether or not you celebrate Christmas or New Years I would like to thank you for being here in 2023 🙏 being able to engage in yoga therapy ‘work’ humbles me more and more each year, especially when clients develop confidence and see their future (better) self 🤍🩵💙 I hope 2024 brings more xx

This week I used singing bowls as part of a yoga therapy session. The client noticed an immediate change.
A recent peer reviewed study found brain waves activated and synchronised to the theta wave frequency of a singing bowl.
Increased theta brain wave activity corresponds with meditative states.
The study also found increased delta brain wave activity which are associated with pre-frontal cortex processes (thought, emotion, action regulation).
Other benefits of singing bowls are
* lowered heart rate
* stabilised blood pressure
* an increased sense of integration
And that is just listening to them..
Interestingly and randomly the vibration sensory cells of the (ie:merkel, messners and pacinian) can feel similar frequencies from 5hz - 300hz.

Hi there, This is me (the current version/look 🙃 anyway!!). I’m really glad Christmas and New years is done but the time with friends and family, for self-care and the time for introspection has been invaluable. So, what does 2023 look like?
📚📖MORE study ahead 🥸🤓😎
After a year of studying Allied Health, I’ve officially been accepted into Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Central Queensland Uni.
I’m excited about the opportunities it presents. So far it has only increased my appreciation of BOTH yoga therapists/teachers and allied health professionals in helping people be the best version of themselves. But it also means
LESS time for… 🧘🏻‍♂️💆‍♀️
as many yoga therapy sessions during the study semester. I’m still here!! However, as I’m striving to be organised so that this deeply heartfelt work continues, I may not be as available as before.
I’m not interested in glorifying the rushed, selfless, do-it-all work ethic that sadly seems to be the norm.
And for me, the only way to teach and to help, is to ‘walk the talk’ by being balanced instead of being burnt out.
Last year we successfully trialled some short, accessible yoga and breath sessions online. Keep your eyes 👀 open for the next block starting later on this year.
If you would like to know course dates, etc let me know. I’ll include you in the email newsletter that goes out beforehand.
💖🙏🌸💙
I look forward to seeing you and meeting you again soon

A little appreciation post to clients who gift food, the local producers and producers who travel to Emerald to deliver fresh fruit and veggies. Thank you - the beautiful honey and ginger has been made into an extra spicy honey soaked chai gift ♨️ ♥️ along with special instructions so the benefits of the raw honey aren’t lost in the process.

Anyone have a favourite sequence? Whilst trying to keep a practice balanced, I do like certain sequences in my personal practice - it is soothing when I don’t know where to start and once I get started I often play, add or vary the sequence to my needs. It allows for deeper exploration of the familiar and awareness of where different postures/movements are required to re-balance my body-soul.
