This is massive progress!
👩⚕️ ENDOMETRIOSIS CLINIC 👩⚕️
Outback Queensland is set to gain a new endometriosis and pelvic pain clinic after the federal government announced an expansion of women's health services.
True Relationships and Reproductive Health will open a new endometriosis facility in Blackall in early 2026. 👏🩷
Director of Nursing and Health Services at True, Lisa Harrison, said the clinic will benefit all of western Queensland.
"The model is set up to service the whole of the western corridor and western Queensland PHN, and Blackall is an area that we are already visiting in our existing outreach services ... so we will base ourselves as a hub," Ms Harrison said.
It's one of eleven new Australian Government-funded clinics across the country, which regional women's health researcher Jessica Spain says will help remove barriers for treatment. ✅
"There is this rural, you know, that culture that you're tough and push through and so hopefully having these clinics closer might reduce that barrier ever so slightly in accessing that."
