🎉 Congratulations to Dr. Len Knott on His Second Retirement! 🎉

This week we celebrate Dr. Len Knott as he retires (for the second time!) after an incredible 55 years of service to communities across South East Queensland — and more recently, right here at Emu Park.

Dr Knott graciously came out of retirement in 2023 to help our Practice with a GP shortage. We would like to sincerely thank Dr. Len for his dedication, compassion, and the exceptional care he has provided to his patients over so many years. His kindness, wisdom, and commitment to his profession have left a lasting impact on both colleagues and the community.

Dr. Len now looks forward to spending more time with his loved ones — especially his grandchildren — and hopes to relocate soon to be closer to them.

From all of us, thank you, Dr. Len, for everything you have done. We wish you a happy, healthy, and very well-deserved retirement! 🌿💙

📢 New Service Available – Online Prescription Request.

We know it’s not always easy to get an appointment right away, especially if your Doctor is away or you need a script urgently. To help, Dr Georges Oteng is trialing a new online repeat prescription service.

How it works:
✅ Request your prescription online via the AMS Connect App
✅ Standard script – $35, ready the same day
✅ Emergency script – $50, ready within 1 hour
🚫 This service is not available for Schedule 8 medications or antibiotics

Please note, if this service isn’t appropriate for your specific health needs, you’ll be referred back to your usual Doctor.

This trial is designed to make sure patients can access safe, timely care from Doctors who know their medical history.

🌸 Women’s Health Week 2025 – Say yes to you 🌸

This week (1–5 September) is Women’s Health Week, led by the Jean Hailes Foundation. It’s Australia’s biggest annual health campaign dedicated to women, girls, and gender-diverse people. This year’s theme is simple but powerful: Say yes to you — making time to prioritise your own health and wellbeing.

A quick note:

🌿 Dr Katie Ilott’s books are currently closed to new patients. Many of her existing patients will likely be following her to Figtree, and this helps ensure continuity of care during our early weeks.

🌿 Dr Nadim Cody is welcoming both existing and new patients, and is looking forward to connecting with patients and settling into this new practice.

Not long now till the Easter long weekend. We will be closed for Good Friday & Easter Monday.

If your scripts are due to run out, please do not leave it to the last minute. With shorter weeks from public holidays script requests can take up to 7 days.

We are just five days away from Christmas and everyone is ready to start their celebrations. We will continue to open over the Christmas/ New Year period and will only close for public holidays. Yeppoon Family Practice will open on weekends. Please contact them on 49139300 for appointment, weekend fees will apply.

🎄 Last Day to Donate! 🎄

Tomorrow, Wednesday 18th December, is the final day to bring some Christmas cheer to families in need through Emu Park Food Relief. If you’d like to contribute, please drop your donations down to The Family Practice (Emu Park).

We’re welcoming donations of non-perishable food, personal hygiene items, or anything that might bring a bit of light to someone in need this Christmas.

This is all about supporting our local community and helping families doing it tough with gift bags full of care and joy. Donations will be distributed to families most in need by Emu Park Food Relief.

Let’s spread the joy of Christmas together! A huge thank you to our incredible team members at The Family Practice (Emu Park) who have been instrumental in collecting these donations.
