What is a cacao ceremony?
A cacao ceremony is really an opportunity for people to come together in an intentional space and enjoy drinking ceremonial cacao whilst perhaps setting new intentions, sharing heart-felt insights, or being led through a meditation or visualisation of some kind.
Cacao ceremonies are certainly not new. People in south and central America, especially the Mayan and Aztec cultures, have been enjoying, initiating and sharing cacao ceremonies for thousands of years.
What is Somatic Movement?
Somatic movement is a, gentle, mindful, and sensory-focused approach to exercise that emphasizes internal physical sensations rather than external fitness goals like burning calories or building muscle. Derived from the Greek word soma (meaning "the body as experienced from within"), it focuses on retraining the nervous system to release chronic tension and improve movement efficiency.
Somatic Movement
Somatic movement is a gentle, conscious, and slow practice focused on internal sensations rather than external appearance or performance. By prioritizing mindful movement and "pandiculation"—a conscious tightening and slow releasing of muscles—it retrains the nervous system, releases chronic tension, improves posture, and reduces
What is Guided Meditation?
Guided meditation is a practice where an instructor (live or via recording) uses their voice to guide you through a session, making it ideal for beginners or those seeking deep relaxation. It uses visualization, breathwork, and body awareness to reduce stress and improve focus, often featuring guided imagery of peaceful landscapes.
Autumn Equinox/Mabon
As the wheel of the year turns once more, we arrive at Mabon, the autumn equinox, celebrated on the 21st of March in the Southern Hemisphere. This sacred day is a moment of balance, where day and night stand equal, offering us a chance to reflect, give thanks, and prepare for the darker half of the year.
Mabon marks the second harvest festival, a time to celebrate the fruits of our labour—both literal and metaphorical. The air begins to cool, the leaves start their golden transformation and nature whispers its reminder of the cycles of life, death, and rebirth.
Connecting with the Mabon Energy
Mabon is a time to slow down and ground yourself in the present. It’s about celebrating what you’ve achieved and preparing for the quieter, introspective months ahead. By embracing the balance of light and dark within yourself, you align with the rhythm of the earth and find a deeper sense of harmony.
May your Mabon be filled with gratitude, balance, and a sense of connection to the magic of the season. Blessed be.
