✨ I’m so excited to share the first two workshops in my 2026 workshop series ✨

This year, I’m creating spaces to explore the deeper patterns shaped through trauma, early attachment, and lived experience, the ones that unconsciously influence how we love, give, protect ourselves, and relate to the world around us.

🌱 Attachment, Trauma & the Cost of Being Loveable
📅 Friday 2 May

This workshop explores how early attachment and life experiences shape the way we relate to love, safety, and self-worth in intimate relationships with ourselves and with others. It’s for those who want to understand repeating patterns, over-giving, or feeling responsible for connection, and to meet these experiences with clarity and compassion rather than self-blame.

🌿 The Price of Over-Giving: Boundaries and the Hidden Cost of Always Saying Yes
📅 Friday 9 May

This workshop explores boundaries through a trauma-informed lens. When saying no once felt unsafe, over-giving became a way to stay connected. We’ll explore why guilt and anxiety often arise around boundaries, and how to begin protecting your needs without losing connection or yourself.

✨ Each workshop can be attended on its own, or together for a deeper understanding of how attachment and boundaries are linked.

If this resonates, you’re very welcome here 🤍

You function.
You show up.
You get things done.

And yet underneath, your body feels on edge, shut down, or constantly bracing for what’s next.

You’re not falling apart but you can feel the cost of holding it together.

The tension that never fully leaves.
The anxiety that sits in your chest, your gut, your breath.
The sense that something inside you never quite gets to rest.

Many of the people who find their way to The Still Space are self-aware and emotionally intelligent, yet living with the after-effects of trauma, grief, or long-term stress.

They’ve learned how to cope.
They’ve learned how to function.
But they can feel the difference between surviving and feeling safe.

They’re not looking for advice or quick strategies.
They’re looking for understanding.
For meaning.
For a space where their responses aren't minimised but recognised as what the body does after too much, for too long.

If you’re in a season where old ways of coping no longer work, and your nervous system is asking for something deeper, more supportive, and more sustainable, this space is for you.

With care,
Sammy ♥️

So much of the work I do with clients is about reclaiming.

Reclaiming their story.
Reclaiming their identity.
Reclaiming their sense of safety.
Reclaiming their vision for the future.
Reclaiming their self-trust.
Reclaiming their self-worth.
Reclaiming their life.

Trauma can take away your sense of presence. It can keep you tethered to the past, to memories, flashbacks, shame, guilt, fear.

It can erode trust in yourself, in your body, in your instincts, and in your capacity to choose.

Over time, life can begin to feel like something you’re surviving rather than living.

But healing isn’t just about coping.

It’s about intentionally reclaiming the parts of you that were taken, hidden, or never fully seen or acknowledged.

And that IS possible.

If 2026 feels like the year you want to reclaim all of who you are, therapy can be a place to start.

It would be my honour to support you.

📌 Start Here | Working With Me at The Still Space

If you’re here because you’re living with trauma, grief, or anxiety, this space is for you.

People choose to work with me because the space I hold in the therapy room is not about quick fixes, surface coping strategies, or being told what you should be feeling or doing.

I work with people who have been shaped by what they’ve lived through, experiences that changed their sense of safety, identity, relationships, or trust in the world.

What makes The Still Space different is how the work is held.

I don’t rush the process or push for disclosure before it’s time.

I don’t minimise grief, label your responses as a problem, or treat anxiety as something to get rid of.

I don’t sit back and nod while you relive painful experiences without support.

Instead, therapy here is grounded, contained, and responsive to you.

I bring together professional training, trauma-informed practice, and lived experience. This isn’t work I only learned from books. I understand what it’s like when loss, anxiety, or trauma changes how you move through life and what it takes to rebuild from that place.

Clients often tell me that therapy helps them:

✨️ Understand their trauma and grief more deeply.
✨️ Realise that what they’re experiencing is a normal response to what they’ve been through.
✨️ Make sense of their life story and past experiences.
✨️ Gain clarity around their behaviours, thoughts, and emotional responses.
✨️ Experience a shift in how they see themselves and their lives.

If you’re looking for therapy that goes beyond surface conversation and meets you where you actually are, you’re welcome here.

My books open for limited periods and close once spaces are filled.

Sessions are available in Engadine and online.

With care,
Sammy ♥️

2026 ✨️♥️

The calendar turns.
And something inside us responds.

Neurologically, new beginnings matter. Not because life suddenly resets, but because the brain uses time markers to create meaning. A new year signals possibility. A reference point. A moment where the system recognises there could be another way forward. New beginning signal hope.

Hope is often misunderstood as positivity.

But in the nervous system, hope is the moment the brain begins to register that something different might be possible. That life may not always have to feel the way it has. And when hope appears, even briefly, the brain becomes more capable of learning, adapting, and reorganising.

From that place, change can take root.

Deep change doesn’t come from resolutions alone. It comes from the growing belief that you’re allowed to live differently, that your future doesn’t have to be dictated by survival patterns, old wounds, or what once felt unavoidable.

Wishing you all a wonderful 2026. May it bring you hope, change in the ways you need and a deep inner belief that you get to live life YOUR way.

Love, Sammy ✨️♥️

A little check-in as we near the end of 2025 ✨️

I hope this festive season has met you where you are. Whether it’s brought rest, tears, reflection, connection, grief, or simply space to breathe, I hope you’ve felt held in the ways you needed.

The past little while for me has been full, socialising, lunches, dinners, admin (that never ends 🤣), practice floor plan changes (yes room changes can be expected) and everything this season brings. You might not guess it from the work I do, where I talk to people all day, but I’m actually an introvert who loves to be alone to reset. I thrive with space, a slower pace, and a good book. I did manage a few quieter days away in Townsville, and I’m really looking forward to slowing down more as the new year arrives.

I’ll be back in the practice from 12 January, when my books will reopen for new clients until April, before closing again until July 2026.

I support people who are carrying the complex, confusing and often overwhelming effects of trauma, grief, and anxiety, experiences that shape how you see yourself, your relationships, and the world around you. I help clients make sense of what they’ve been through, understand why certain things still hurt, and find a way forward. This work isn’t only something I’ve studied, it’s something I know through lived experience and to me that really matters.

I believe 2026 can be the year you reclaim the parts of yourself that were hidden, forgotten, hurt, silenced, or made to feel not good enough. The parts that learned how to survive, and are now ready to be seen, understood, and supported.

When you’re ready to begin, I’ll be here.

May 2026 be the year you dream of and deeply deserve.

Love,
Sammy ✨💗

As I prepare for my last day before our Christmas closure period, I want to send my warmest wishes to each of you, my clients and our wider community, for a gentle and nourishing Christmas and festive season. 🎄✨️

However this time of year meets you, I hope it offers moments of rest, connection, and care, and carries you into 2026 feeling held and supported.

The practice will be closed from 18 December to 12 January, with a small number of urgency appointments available on 29 December for existing clients (please email me at hello@thestillspace.com.au to book, they will not be opened online).

To every client who has shown up with bravery, courage, tenderness, and vulnerability, it has been the deepest privilege to witness your stories and support your journey this year. Thank you for trusting me with your hearts.

Sending you love as the year draws to a close.

What to say when you don’t know what to say 💔

It can be hard to speak about the unthinkable.
After events like the Bondi terrorism attack, many parents and caregivers unstandably feel unsure about how to talk to their children about such tradgic and devastating events.

These supportive phrases, shared by Psychologist Karen Young, can help guide calm, connected conversations with your children when words feel hard to find.

“I’m so glad you’ve told me how you’re feeling.”

“I feel sad and confused too. And I know we’ll be okay.”

“The way you’re feeling makes sense to me.”

“The world can feel scary when things like this happen. What I know is that even though people do awful things, we live in a world that is good and kind and loving. Most people in the world are kind and loving. When something terrible happens, there will always be so many people rushing in to help.”

“There are people working to make sure we’re safe and to make sure something like this doesn’t happen again, and I trust them.”

“We can keep talking as much as you need. If you don’t have the words, that’s okay. Just tell me you’d like to talk and I’ll help you find the starting words.”

When you can’t normalise what’s happened, you can normalise how they feel about it.

With warmth and tenderness, Sammy ♥️
