We offer NDIS funded Assistive Technology (AT) that can range from simple, everyday products to more complex systems. To make sure you choose the right AT solution for your needs, it’s always a good idea to seek advice from an AT advisor. In fact, if the AT you’re considering falls into the “higher risk” category (explained below), the NDIS requires you to get professional advice before making a purchase.

Ndis uses two categories to assess the level of risk and complexity of AT products: low risk and higher risk.

Low Risk AT

Low risk AT products are generally:

Unlikely to cause harm in everyday use.

Easy to try out or purchase from retail stores.
Simple to set up and use safely without needing professional advice.

Higher Risk AT

Higher risk AT products may:

Be more complex, like a power wheelchair.
Have a history of causing harm.

Be used as part of a restrictive practice.

Require professional advice, setup, or training to ensure safe use.

By understanding these categories, you can make informed decisions and ensure your AT is safe, effective, and tailored to your needs.
