Rest should be built into each and every day. It is as important as achievement, nutrition, exercise, and sleep. Rest is not simply a 30% reduction of your normal pace, but rather should be a full stop. An intentional creation of space and time for stillness and calm.

What can you do today to honour the parts of you needing to rest?

Happy Valentines Day!

Valentines day is a wonderful reminder of the importance of co-regulation for self regulation. Although it may sound like something
internal to an individual, self-regulation develops through relationship with others such as parents, teachers, friends, partners, coaches, and mentors.

As humans, we were designed for relationship and it is through relationship that we are able to thrive. Though valentines day is recognised as a day for romantic relationships, any safe relationship with others (colleagues, friends, family, and even pets) can be used for co-regulation and subsequently increased your ability to self-regulate.

Here are 3 ways that you can practice co-regulation today!
1. Read a book out loud to someone else
2. Give or receive a slow massage
3. Dance with someone and work to mirror their movements fluidly

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a complex mental health disorder which is often misunderstood. People with BPD are frequently discriminated against, stigmatised, and limited from effective treatment.

This week is BPD Awareness week (1-7 October). It is important to continue to change, develop and grow our understanding of mental health and the lived experiences of people with complex disorders.

For more information on BPD, check our BPD Awareness Australia at

October is national mental health month. National mental health month is an initiative of the Mental Health Foundation Australia (MHFA) to advocate for and raise awareness of Australian Mental Health.

This year's theme will focus on raising awareness about mental health in various industries. Every industry has faced, and continues to face, overwhelming challenges as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic. With this in mind, MHFA will be hosting a huge number of events to embrace many different community groups and people of all ages. For details on these events, check out the link:

Reminder: Be intentional about creating lighthearted and happy moments. Be goofy, play, be silly, organize a comedy night. Its important to keep laughing during difficult times. It is this laughter that gives us strength and capacity to endure hard things.

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day. Su***de is currently the leading cause of death for people aged between 15 - 44. Su***de is complex and it is often very difficult to know if someone is experiencing suicidal thoughts unless you ask them directly. Please take the opportunity today to reach out to those you love and check in with them. If you yourself are experiencing suicidal thoughts, please reach out to your local mental health provider or a trusted person. YOU ARE WORTH IT
