🤩⛹️‍♀️THIS LOOKS INCREDIBLE!! ⛹️🤩

🌊 CPSARA Connect is coming to the Central Coast! 🌊

That’s right, we are bringing our FREE multi-sport social day for people with a disability to Niagara Park Stadium on the Central Coast next month! Join us on Sunday the 23rd of July from 12-4pm for an opportunity to try new sports and make new friends in a fun and inclusive environment! 🙌🏼

Sports on offer include Football (Soccer), Wheelchair Basketball, Boccia, Pickleball, Yoga and Circus! You will also be able to meet and hear from local Paralympians, Pararoos and ParaMatildas players including Dual Summer and Winter Paralympian, ParaMatilda and CPSARA Athlete Ambassador Rae Anderson PLY, ParaMatilda Tahlia Blanshard and Pararoo Jeremy Boyce. ⚽️

CPSARA will provide a light lunch to all attendees and carers on the day. We also welcome siblings to participate in this family-friendly event! 🤗

This event is proudly facilitated by CPSARA with the support of our valued community, Disability Sports Australia, Brainwave Australia and the Central Coast Council. 🤝

🚌📚 READY, SET, KINDY! 📚🚌
In September, we will be running our READY, SET, KINDY! group for the second year, and this time, due to the overwhelming success of last year, we will be running the group at both Erina and Tuggerah!

This is not a traditional 'school-readiness' group - although there is plenty of focus of skill-development for school, we equally want to ensure that 'school is ready for you!' The aim of these groups is to assess your child in a school-like environment with school-based tasks and routines, identify areas of additional supports that may be needed, and trial support options through the week. This will allow us to give very clear recommendations to school on how to ensure the best start possible!

💚💚YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO THIS - ARCHIE'S SUPER MUM & HER STORY💚💚
Central Coast local Sarah Tarasenko, Mum to the very special Archie, one of our Tuggerah friends, has shared her incredible story this week on The Gals Podcast.
This episode is raw, very emotional, and incredibly beautiful, as Sarah sits with local Podcast host and personal friend Lauren to share the journey of becoming a special needs Mum, and learning "I am STRONG, I am BRAVE, and I am a GOOD MUM" - we couldn't agree more! 💪

At her 12 week scan, Sarah was told her little bub was measuring smaller than normal. At 25 weeks and after some extra scans, blood tests and monitoring in Sydney, Sarah mentioned to the nurse that she was experiencing strong pains. It was at that appointment, she was diagnosed with preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome, and told she was not leaving the hospital. ⁠
At just 26 weeks, Sarah and James' beautiful son Archie was born via emergency c-section – and what followed were many challenges, pain & heartache. ⁠
But what it showed is that Sarah, James and beautiful Archie are incredible strong, brave and full of SO much love & determination ❤️

🏊💦HYDROTHERAPY CLINIC!💦🏊
Recently, we have been very happy to start offering more regular hydrotherapy appointments to our clients, with our qualified Exercise Physiologist Olivia! We know how valuable hydrotherapy to support a client's therapy program, and are so happy to finally be able to provide hydro more consistently. Here we have a few pics of Olivia and B recently enjoying exercise in the pool! 🤽‍♂️

We now have regular hydrotherapy appointments available at Gosford Swimming Pool, on Thursday afternoons, and Friday mornings! We only have a few appointment times left available at the moment, so please feel free to contact us to chat if you would like to consider hydro! 💚

🌟🔥THE MAGIC MIRROR!🔥🌟
The team at Erina had fun yesterday, receiving training in the use of an incredible new technology we have been so fortunate to have had funded - the Magic Mirror!
A HGUGE thank you to Central Coast Leagues Club for your amazingly generous ongoing support for CPA Central Coast and our local community! 🤩🫶

This incredible technology allows for accessible interaction for therapy and play, allowing interaction by the smallest of gestures and body movement, eye gaze, touch screen, switching, speech and more, making it truly available for everyone to participate in!
We look forward in the coming months to introducing clients to this technology to support a wide range of therapy goals across SP, OT, PT & EP!! 💚

🤸⛹️‍♀️ HEALTHY KIDS SPORTS SCHOOL HOLIDAYS GROUP! 🤸⛹️‍♀️
Last week our EP Olivia, with the help of a few awesome student volunteers, ran our Healthy Kids Sports School Holidays Group again at East Gosford Scout Hall, and it was a blast! We had returning and new little legends, having a lot of fun practicing their sports skills, and learning about their bodies, the importance of healthy eating as body fuel, mindfulness and self-acceptance. Everyone enjoyed not just the sports, but making health snacks, yoga and meditation!

We will be looking to run this group again in the September school holidays, 25th - 29th Sept - Please chat to your therapist or CSC if you think your child might be interested, we only have a few spots left already! 📞

We have been awfully quite on here the last few months - sorry about that! 😂

Central Coast local Jade Harrison, age 17, has won the New South Wales Young Volunteer of the Year for the Central Coast! 🤩
Jade volunteers across the Tuggerah and Erina teams supporting groups such as Bike Clinic, Santa Photos, Healthy Kids and Mighty Kids - and does an AMAZING JOB! The Year 12 student was 13 days away from starting her HSC when she supporting our Healthy Kids group!

The Centre for Volunteering recognised Jade for her "volunteering on the Central Coast and her can-do attitude". thank you Jade for all you do for us and our community - a very well-deserved award! 💚💚

👫👫 MINI MIGHTY KIDS!! 👫👫
We had an amazing group of kids take place in our transition-to-school intensive therapy group last across last week - our Mini Mighty Kids! Erina turned into a school for a week, and we worked on the challenges that starting school can throw out - from circle time, to going on an excursion (to the park!), taking home and returning library books, lining up and walking in a line, working in a group, sport, engaging with friends, independence with mealtimes and so much more! 🎨🖍✂️📖
The group was so valuable for looking at what strengths each little person brings, and what individual supports they may need at school to ensure that they have the very best start to their participation in learning 💚
It was full of energy and A LOT OF FUN!
We wish all our Mini Mighty kids the absolute best for Kindy in 2023! 👩‍🏫🧑‍🏫
