Very proud to be involved in administering the 1 millionth COVID 19 vaccination for IPN on Thursday. A huge achievement towards getting us all back to normal life.

Today, Sonic Clinical Services has officially passed 1 million COVID-19 vaccines administered to the Australian public. These vaccines have been administered in mass vaccination hubs, in residential aged care, in the work place and in our Medical Centres, right around the country.

This is a very significant achievement in addressing the crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic and wouldn’t have been possible without the contribution and magnificent effort of our staff, Doctors and nurses. Congratulations to all involved!

The most effective way to remain disease-free is to visit your GP for regular screening tests to detect issues even before you have symptoms.

For many chronic illnesses, early detection is more effective than trying to treat it once it’s developed.

Depending on your age, weight and health, your doctor may recommend any of the following screening tests:

💉A fasting blood sugar test to rule out diabetes

👂 Hearing and eyesight tests if you are over 65 or have existing problems

📝 A stool sample test to check for bowel cancer if you are aged 50 and over. A colonoscopy could be recommended for those considered high risk.

☀️ Full-body skin check

As the number of coronavirus cases rise across Australia, the level of anxiety within the community is increasing. Feelings of worry and unease can be expected following a stressful event, however, it is important that we learn to manage our stress before it turns to more severe anxiety and panic.

See below for some useful strategies which can help both adults and children cope with the stress or anxiety experienced as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

If you or someone you know is struggling, visit https://bit.ly/3yWzY5y for further information on coping strategies.

The Stroke Foundation recommends the F.A.S.T. (Face, Arm, Speech, Time) test as an easy way to remember the most common signs of stroke.

Face: Check their face. Has their mouth drooped?

Arms: Can they lift both arms?

Speech: is their speech slurred? Do they understand you?

Time: is critical. If you see any of these signs call triple zero (000) immediately.

During National Stoke Week, share this video with your friends and followers so more people can identify the signs of a stroke, which could potentially save a life.

Did you know Bowel Cancer is Australia’s second deadliest cancer?

This week, 296 Australians will be diagnosed with bowel cancer and 103 Australians will lose their lives to bowel cancer.

While the risk of bowel cancer increases significantly with age, the disease doesn't discriminate, affecting men and women, young and old. Yet, bowel cancer is one of the most treatable types of cancer if found early.
