Congratulations Cathy & Taeya! 🌟

We’re thrilled to celebrate Cathy and Taeya, two inspiring recipients of our First Nations Scholarship Program for 2025!

Both women (who are Mother and Daughter) are currently studying in community services-related fields and are passionate about making a difference in their communities. Through this program, they’ll receive financial support for learning essentials, along with priority access to student placements - giving them a strong foundation for future success.

Our scholarship program is part of our commitment to strengthening the diversity of the local community services workforce and supporting the next generation of First Nations leaders.

Congratulations again, Cathy and Taeya — we’re so proud to be part of your journey.

Holiday fun with macramé! ✨🧵

During the holiday break, our NDIS participants got hands-on and creative at our Macramé Workshop – and the results were amazing!

Everyone had a blast learning new skills, getting crafty, and connecting with friends. We love seeing confidence grow through creativity.

NDIS Good News Story:

A few years ago, I was in a dark place. After eight years of chronic pain, depression, social isolation and weight gain, I had reached 125kg, developed Type 2 diabetes, and was heavily medicated. I felt like I had lost all purpose, and honestly, I didn’t think things would change.
But with the right support through the NDIS, things slowly started to shift.

I was able to access hospital-based rehab, get my pain better managed, and gradually reduce the medications that were making life harder. Most importantly, I was surrounded by a team who believed in me and genuinely cared — not just about my goals, but about me as a person.
I set myself a huge goal: to get back to 80kg, the weight I was 10 years ago when I was still working. Step by step, literally, I started walking again — just one lap around the oval at first. Over time, that turned into bushwalks, then swimming in the ocean again, and even picking up a tennis racquet for the first time in years.

Last week, I reached my goal. I've lost 45kg. My blood sugar and blood pressure are now in the normal range, and I feel more alive than I have in years. I’m still managing chronic conditions, but for the first time in a long time, I feel hopeful — like I’m becoming the best version of myself.

This is what the NDIS has helped make possible. With the right people beside you, anything can change.
