Yesterday, ANZACATA notified Art Therapists across Australia that the NDIA is discontinuing Art Therapy as an approved support for NDIS participants, commencing December 2. After a decade of being an approved and effective therapy support for NDIS participants, ANZACATA have not been consulted or made aware of the reasons behind this decision. Continuity of care for our clients has not been considered, nor the livelihood of practitioners with our professional work being severely impacted by this baffling decision. Day two of 'Stitched in Place' workshop, creating textile landscapes was the perfect way to spend a Sunday 🙏

Back home and sitting beneath my plum tree with the cicadas in chorus, I contemplate the sandstone plateau that is my home beginning to reveal itself. As I travel the stitches from the valley to the heights, I can explore a previously inaccessible terrain.

I've appreciated the pace and intuitive approach of this workshop. I look forward to completing this piece. Slowly.

Once again, I was privileged to facilitate a series of therapeutic art groups as part of the Jenn Anderson Dragonfly Fund. A generous philanthropic act of love from a husband in honour of his wife, Jenn. Jenn, who loved dragonflies, the arts, and supporting women to realise their potential. Yesterday, the project culminated in the opening of an exhibition of works from group participants and women in the community. This is just a sample of work currently on display

The Blue Mountains Womens Health and Resource Centre was instrumental in the realisation of this project, and the community is so lucky to have this incredible resource ♡

Immense gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of such an inspiring and important project 🙏
