Content soul with a calm mind and a radiating heart. 📿🧘🏻🌿
This experience in Kyoto, Japan was just so so special.
I’ve been looking forward to it for so long it felt dreamlike.
I have no words for the energy I experienced and received in this beautiful 150 year old sub temple Kodoiji , and to experience it all with Demi my eldest daughter was just something I can not describe in words.🥹🙏🏼
Meeting Kourin who has been a Buddhist Monk since he was 14 (so for 27 years now, following in his grandfather’s footsteps) was an absolute highlight. In complete silence Kourin began our session by making us each a delicious offering of a traditional ceremonial matcha to enjoy and a traditional Japanese sweet, made from rice and sugar. 🍵
We then absorbed all of his knowledge and wisdom on meditation, the importance, the benefits, the challenges, the soul connection and the different techniques and rituals, with guidance to implement at home and infuse into my healing room. 🪷
I was in my absolute ELEMENT!
We then sat in a traditional Zen (Zazen) meditation for 20 minutes, the silence filled with such a calming, peaceful energy, the only sounds being our breath and some birds keen to make their presence known 🎶
The energy was incredibly powerful yet soft and palpable to my whole being, reducing me to tears of happiness and gratitude on reflection.🥹
For Demi it was her first real meditation experience and wow, what an introduction for her! Something she mostly only experienced for me and ended up being one of her highlights in Japan. (I knew it 🙊)
Surrounded by an untouched moss gardens enveloped in silence, post meditation we were guided in our serene states, wearing only slippers and standing only on the stones as a path to explore it’s beauty in silence and take a couple of photos if we wished as memories.
I could have listened to
Kourin speak about his life as a Buddhist Monk and his cultural beliefs and traditions for ever!
He was more than happy to answer all of our questions.
I am so grateful for the wisdom he shared with us. Something I will never forget and I now know for certain why I needed this experience and why it had manifested into my reality at such a quick speed.✨✨
On Kourin’s chosen wall hanging script for the day, the words written meant…
“For once in a lifetime”💫
Our experience summed up in five words wholeheartedly. 🥰
With a grateful, inspired heart, I look forward to sharing so much more of my spiritual connection to Japan with you all, it stole my heart. 🇯🇵 ♥️
