There has been a major shift in Australia towards understanding and taking care of mental health. However, much of the information presented to us at work or on social media and present us with a superficial understanding of mental health and mental illness.
Mental health is a combination our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It influences the way we conduct ourselves in our everyday life.
Signs of good mental health can include:
• confidence when faced with new situations or people
• feeling optimistic
• not blaming yourself
• setting good goals
• feel good about yourself and have good self-esteem
Mary Magalotti and the Life Resolutions team know that it can be tough – but fortunately, you don’t have to face these challenges alone. Jodie Brenton prides herself on the fact that Life Resolutions provides compassionate, confidential counselling and support for people from all walks of life.

Chronic pain is a long-lasting condition that people know very little about. One thing that is not widely known about chronic pain is that the condition is closely linked to poor mental health. Pain Australia found that 40% of people with major depression are also suffering from chronic pain
Chronic pain suffers typically seek care from a doctor or specialist, however, this is only looking at one part of the condition. A mental health professional can work with you and your team of health care professionals to create a chronic pain management plan that can help you live a life that is good for you and your mental wellbeing.
Mary Magalotti and our team of psychologists are experienced in chronic pain management and the biopsychosocial approach.

The science is in... Happiness is contagious!!
A study found that happiness can spread through people and their social networks! It was also found that sadness does not spread as much as happiness does (so sadness is less contagious).
It was found that living within 2km of a friend view to be happy can increase one’s happiness by approximately 25%.
Our head psychologist, Mary Magalotti and the team of Life Resolutions psychologists aim to help all Australians to work towards happiness and be able to share that happiness. Our director Jodie Brenton works to make mental health services available to all Australians.

Australia is a large country, with a significant amount of people living in regional and rural locations. This is one of the reasons telehealth is so important. It makes mental health support accessible to all Australians. Our Director, Jodie Brenton believes that your ability to access mental health services should not be determined by where you live.
The su***de rate for men aged 15-29 in regional areas is double that of those living in urban areas. This highlights that due to limited access to mental health services those in rural areas do not get the professional support they need.
These statistics highlight the need for accessible telehealth appointments with mental health practitioners. Jodie Brenton and our head psychologist Mary Magalotti, strive to ensure that all Australians can access the mental health support they need, no matter their location.
