My birth story with my first born 🤍
Birth is unpredictable.
Birth is wonderful.
Birth is magical.
Birth is different for everyone.
I went into labour and birth with a plan and a vision. Education was key for me so I knew all the different things that could be offered or could happen so I could make an informed decision. My plan and vision was flexible and open to being changed if anything during labour changed to help me move through pain or any outcomes that would arise.
I wasn’t fearful of birth in fact I was so excited for it.
I wanted an unmediated birth but ended up having an epidural.
Did my body fail me? Absolutely not!
Did I fail my plan? No!
Did I have the best birth? YES!!!
Would I do it all over again? Yes!
Was it a positive experience? YESSSSS!
When I explain to everyone how wonderful my birth was and how long it went for (36 hours to be exact) they look at me and think I’m crazy. My birth happened exactly the way it needed to. My baby boy worked with me and not against me (mind you he was calm the entires time, his heart rate never dropped, he was wiggling so much happy to be doing his thing).
Next time I’ve wanted to be more educated on how to help baby move if they are in a posterior position.
My health care team was phenomenal my OB was calm during the whole birth and incredibly supportive during my pregnancy and gave us the best advice after birth!
My private hospital and the midwives and staff were all incredible during the birth and post birth.
My birth happened exactly the way it was meant to. My birth happened exactly at the right time. My birth was designed for me and never worked against me.
This is my birth story with my son
