We are excited to welcome our new remedial massage therapist aboard!
Angela Tascheri-Polli is a warm, engaging, experienced physiotherapist trained in Chile who has just completed her Diploma in Remedial Massage and about to study Myotherapy.

Angela is a great addition to our team and has already done a handover with Moneta.

Her approach to treatment centres on precise palpation, advanced massage techniques, and a deep understanding of how the body functions. She provides tailored care for each client, integrating methods such as trigger point therapy, myofascial release, dry needling and deep tissue massage to address individual needs and preferences.

We say farewell to Moneta as she starts her maternity leave. She is expecting her 2nd child in early October and we wish her all the best.

Angela will initially work on Thursdays and Wednesdays and every second Saturday, starting Thursday October 2nd.

As an introductory offer for all clients, we are arranging a 10% discount at $99 for the first massage with Angela (normally $110), for the month of October.
Please book using this link or call us at the clinic on 9370 5654.

At NWPG, we value openness and connection. People often come to see us in a vulnerable state, where pain and frustration dominate their lives, affecting their physical, mental, and emotional health.

September 12th is R U OK Day, but we know that conversations around mental health is an everyday practice. Remember that reaching out to friends and loved ones and asking "R U OK?" can happen any day of the year.

Ever felt like giving up because the results weren’t coming fast enough?
It’s really easy to feel discouraged when the results don’t come as quickly as you’d like. Life gets busy, other responsibilities take over, and sometimes the timing just doesn’t feel right.

And this is very common…

But here’s the thing: when you stick with it, step by step, change really does happen.
So let me ask you…
👉 What if this time you gave yourself the chance to stay consistent and actually get pain-free?
You don’t have to do it perfectly. You just have to keep showing up for yourself.
And when you do, your future self will thank you 💙

If you are committed to your health, we are committed to going the extra mile to help you regain your confidence and control over your recovery.

We see it all too often people making the same mistakes when it comes to managing pain. That’s why we wanted to share the Top 4 Pain Mistakes You’re Probably Making and how to avoid them:
1️⃣ Thinking the pain is the problem.
Sometimes pain shows up far from the actual issue—like shoulder pain during a heart attack. Treating the wrong area wastes time, energy, and money.
2️⃣ Believing pain = damage.
Pain isn’t always about injury. It’s often your body’s early warning system, asking you to take action before things get worse. It's your brain's way of protecting you!
3️⃣ Trusting scans too much.
Scans can show “issues” that don’t always cause pain. And sometimes, scans can be clear even if you have pain. Research shows that scan results and pain or symptoms don't often correlate.
4️⃣ Ignoring pain signals.
Pain is your body’s way of saying, "Something needs to change!" Ignoring it can lead to more serious issues like torn muscles or inflamed tendons... and even more pain!
💡 The key isn’t chasing pain, it’s finding the root cause and addressing it early.
If you’re tired of living with pain or feeling stuck, we’re here to help.

How to Use Neuroscience to Fix Your Pain

Which one are you?

✅ Happy muscles – soft, balanced, relaxed… like raw steak.
❌ Unhappy muscles – tense, ropey, tight… like overcooked steak.

Here’s the neuroscience connection:
Unhappy muscles are your brain’s protective response. They’re warning you something’s not quite right.

The surprising part?
The muscles causing your pain are often not where you actually feel the pain. In many cases, the real cause is somewhere else entirely — and when it’s overlooked, treatment doesn’t work and pain lingers.

At our clinic, we’ve helped so many people stuck with persistent pain simply by being thorough, checking the whole body, and using a clear step-by-step problem-solving approach.

If you feel like you’ve got a lot of “overcooked steak” in your body, it’s time to listen to what your brain is trying to tell you.

Kintsugi, also known as kintsukuroi, is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the cracks with lacquer and then highlighting the repair with gold, silver, or platinum. It's a practice that embraces imperfection and transforms broken objects into unique and valuable pieces. Rather than hiding the damage, kintsugi emphasizes it, making the repaired object even more beautiful and meaningful.
This is a kind of metaphor for what we do with the body...

When you’ve been in pain for a while, it’s easy to believe something is deeply wrong — not just with your body, but with you.
Maybe you’ve been told “it’s in your head” or felt dismissed by people who couldn’t see past the symptoms. You start to see yourself through the lens of what’s hurting.
But that belief is quietly working against you.
When you believe you’re broken, your attention gets stuck on what’s wrong. You miss the tiny moments that bring hope and progress. It’s not your fault. That belief has been built over time.
But here’s what we want you to know — you are not broken.
Pain is real. But it’s not the full story.
At NWPG, we see you as a whole person, not just a diagnosis. Our approach goes beyond pain relief. We focus on rebuilding your relationship with your body. With compassion, curiosity, and care.
You don’t have to carry this alone.
We’re here to help you feel like yourself again.

We visited MVFit and met Russell and his team of exercise physiologists. We share a number of clients and discussed how we can work together to get the best results for them. Guided structured exercise is important in consolidating improvements that we make in clinic to build capacity and load tolerance. Russell gave us a tour of the facility and we discussed our respective approaches and how we can work together in the future. It is great to meet like minded health professionals.

🔋 You wouldn’t let your phone battery get flat —so why do it to yourself?

Most of us are more tired, burned out, and inactive than ever. And when we don’t take care of ourselves, it’s not just us who feel the impact—it’s our loved ones too.
Ignoring aches, tightness, and exhaustion doesn’t make them disappear. It just builds up in the background until suddenly, we can’t ignore it anymore. By then, the problem is bigger, the pain is worse, and our energy levels are drained.
But what if we didn’t wait until we were running on empty?
Self-care isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. Just like you wouldn’t let your phone battery hit 0%, don’t let your body and mind get to that point either. Listen to the signals, move more, rest when you need to, and take care of yourself before burnout takes over.

Because the best version of you is the one that’s energised, healthy, and able to enjoy life with the people you love. 💙
