Fats are an important part of our heart health. ❤️

Our good fats (monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats) help to improve our cholesterol levels by decreasing our bad cholesterol and increasing our good cholesterol, helping to decrease our risk of heart disease. They may also reduce inflammation in the body.

On the other hand, saturated and trans fats can increase our bad cholesterol, increasing our risk of heart disease.

We are often asked in clinic about dessert options that are lower in kilojoules to assist in managing weight. 🍰

Our recommendations vary on an individual basis. However, if you're looking for something sweet and are being mindful of your overall kilojoule consumption, here are 6 options you may consider.

Please keep in mind, that generally speaking, all foods (even your favourite chocolate!) can be consumed in moderation. After all, food is more than just kilojoules, so don't forget to enjoy it!
