PRS CARE GOALS PROGRAM ISLAND RETREAT
Immerse yourself in a four-day program that emphasizes mental health and well-being, offering a unique opportunity to develop skills and enhance capacity while working towards personal goals.
The Retreat Objectives:
The Retreat is facilitated by two experienced social workers from PRS Care. Their expertise helps adults with disabilities to understand and navigate the challenges they face. By addressing the impact of disability on self-worth and decision-making abilities, the program empowers individuals to create the life they desire.
The Retreat is a four-day goal focused program that promotes the following:

Reflection
Identifying positive self-change
Letting go, resilience & growth
Personal goal setting
Suitability:
Individuals over 18 years old with disabilities seeking self-discovery and tools to manage mental health obstacles.
Structure:
The Retreat offers group counselling sessions that utilize a variety of techniques, such as theory, practice, symbolism, and peer networks. These methods have been proven effective in helping adults with disabilities explore and consolidate information.
Key Concepts of the Program Include:
Self-exploration - The process of self-exploration involves gaining insight into one's own experiences, challenges, and relationships. By delving into our personal journey, we can better understand ourselves and the dynamics we encounter in our interactions with others
Mental health and wellbeing - encompasses various aspects such as stress, anxiety, depression, and su***de
Disability - The concept of disability involves understanding how it is perceived by society and the effects it can have on individuals, as well as acknowledging the emotional challenges such as grief and loss that may arise
Letting go, building confidence & resilience - Developing the ability to release control, fostering self-assurance, and cultivating inner strength
Peer support - Support for individuals with disabilities provided by peers.
Goal setting - Setting goals with a focus on the future is essential for achieving desired outcomes.

Improved Daily Living:
Group therapy sessions will be conducted for a total of 24.5 hours to support the development of life skills, enhance community participation, promote self-awareness and emotional growth, and assist in setting and achieving personal goals. The sessions will maintain a ratio of 1 staff member to 6 participants (1:6)
Improved Daily Living:
Before the retreat, personalised therapeutic assistance will be provided by a social worker.
