Brahma Kumaris Fairfield

Brahma Kumaris Fairfield Settled into Railway Place since 2023, Brahma Kumaris Fairfield is Melbourne's latest oasis of peace. FREE courses and presentations every month. Come visit us!

Special Sundays Recharge Meditation every week. World Meditation Hour 3rd Sunday every month. After 40 years in the Bohemian suburb of Fitzroy we have moved just 10 minutes away to the serene, leafy village of Fairfield where we are surrounded by coffee shops, eateries, a beautiful park with Heritage amphitheatre, and a boathouse. It is known for its diverse and vibrant community. It’s just 6kms from the Melbourne CBD and is directly across the road from Fairfield Train Station – the Hurstbridge line; the No. 11 Tram down Brunswick Street stops at Westgarth Street, a short few steps from the Westgarth Train Station, which is two stops from Fairfield; there are also 6 bus routes that pass through. For those seeking meaning in life and answers to life’s ‘big questions’, our unique calm environment, with experienced meditation tutors, is a great place to learn practical meditation and positive living techniques to help you lead a meaningful and empowered life. We continue to offer The Brahma Kumaris’ core curriculum courses in Raja Yoga Meditation in English, Hindi, Tamil and Punjabi. Weekly inspirational classes will resume, as well as World Meditation Hour which is a favourite, held on the third Sunday of each month. There will be many more community events. The centre is run by volunteers and all activities are offered without charge as a community service. Donations are welcomed to help in covering costs. We look forward to seeing old faces and new as we grow into our new environment.

Lighten your load 🪶

"When negative thoughts weigh you down, imagine each thought turning into a bubble in your mind and floating out of the top of your head. Feel tension floating away with the bubbles, leaving your spirit and mind lighter." - 1001 Meditations, Mike George

Visualisation works by harnessing the power of thought and creating the more powerful experience - images! Try when you find yourself over-thinking and feeling stressed.💜

21/09/2025

Hope you made the online meditation VIGIL on 21 September for UN Peace Day. 🕊

If you were unable to be online, you may like to sit quietly at your own time and enjoy this beautiful heart-felt commentary from Carmen Warrington, which was used during the vigil.

Blessings 💜❤️🧡

Meditation ~ Positive Thinking ~ Self-Empowerment

The Brahma Kumaris is a world-wide not-for-profit NGO, acknowledging the intrinsic goodness, value and beauty of all people. A worldwide family of individuals from all walks of life, we are committed to personal transformation and spiritual growth, believing this essential to the creation of a peaceful and just world. We work for positive change at all levels of society, through a variety of courses, seminars, conferences, outreach and residential programs, raising awareness of the power of thought and its practical application to enhance the spiritual dimension of life.

The BKs have had a presence in Australia since 1975. There are 8 other teaching locations throughout Melbourne and a beautiful residential retreat centre on the Mornington Peninsula.

This Fitzroy Centre was the first building purchased in Australia by the organisation, in 1983, and is in a perfect location to reach the multitude of souls from all over the world who pass up and down the very popular tourist precinct of Brunswick Street. It has a shop front, which houses a bookstore and a Quiet Room, where people can enjoy time in peace and meditation. Volunteer meditators teach the Foundation Course in Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga Meditation, as well as Positive Thinking Courses, running seven separate FREE courses every month – day, evening and weekend – as well as teaching individuals or smaller groups by arrangement, currently in English, Hindi, and French. In addition, there are special events and presentations, such as the regular Wednesday evening talk on a variety of topics with many inspiring presenters.

All programmes and events are free of charge, although donations are welcome to support the running of the centre.
