Brahma Kumaris Fairfield

Brahma Kumaris Fairfield Settled into Railway Place since 2023, Brahma Kumaris Fairfield is Melbourne's latest oasis of peace. FREE courses begin every month. Come visit us!

Presentations and Sunday Recharge Meditation on every week. World Meditation Hour 3rd Sunday every month. After 40 years in the Bohemian suburb of Fitzroy we have moved just 10 minutes away to the serene, leafy village of Fairfield where we are surrounded by coffee shops, eateries, a beautiful park with Heritage amphitheatre, and a boathouse. It is known for its diverse and vibrant community. It’s

just 6kms from the Melbourne CBD and is directly across the road from Fairfield Train Station – the Hurstbridge line; the No. 11 Tram down Brunswick Street stops at Westgarth Street, a short few steps from the Westgarth Train Station, which is two stops from Fairfield; there are also 6 bus routes that pass through. For those seeking meaning in life and answers to life’s ‘big questions’, our unique calm environment, with experienced meditation tutors, is a great place to learn practical meditation and positive living techniques to help you lead a meaningful and empowered life. We continue to offer The Brahma Kumaris’ core curriculum courses in Raja Yoga Meditation in English, Hindi, Tamil and Punjabi. Weekly inspirational classes will resume, as well as World Meditation Hour which is a favourite, held on the third Sunday of each month. There will be many more community events. The centre is run by volunteers and all activities are offered without charge as a community service. Donations are welcomed to help in covering costs. We look forward to seeing old faces and new as we grow into our new environment.

Spaceship Earth 🚀🌏

“We are not going to be able to operate our Spaceship Earth successfully nor for much longer unless we see it as a whole spaceship and our fate as common. It has to be everybody or nobody.” ― R. Buckminster Fuller

We are drifting as a species, drifting into our own isolated spaces, each one separate, where every effort to survive and thrive is made harder because of our loneliness.

How difficult can it be to reach out the short distance to that adjacent lonely space, and join hands with another traveller? It isn’t hard, it just requires a little drop of self-preservation, if nothing else.

Blessings to those who do, and to those who need encouragement to try. 🙏

L.E.R.I 🌺

“When I was young and would worry, my mum would tell me that if I would quiet my mind and listen really well that I could hear all the good things in the world, and that they outweighed the bad.” - Unknown

Moving into Stillness
Wed 6 May, 7pm

Come join our facilitator, Karen, who has studied many different styles of yoga over many decades.

Her journey has taken her to a beautiful system of yoga called Dru Yoga. This yoga can easily be adapted to the chair. Dru Yoga involves not just physical movement but includes energetic awareness of body, mind and spirit. It works on releasing blocked energy, developing new understandings of the self, a renewal of spirit and finding our still point. Truly needed in our current world.

Growing around grief 🤍⏺️⚪️

We often hear, when we are grieving, that it will get easier over time, that we will forget more, and the grief will grow less and less. Sometimes, that may feel like a betrayal of the one we lost, or what we are grieving for, and we may resist. This can lead to an inability to ‘let go’ and get back to living.

A better way to understand grief changing over time is to think of an oyster with a tiny grit of sand. The oyster finds it very difficult but cannot just diminish the sand or eject it outright. So the oyster begins to coat it with a smooth coating to minimise the pain. Eventually that tiny grain of sand will be the size of a small sphere, coated with glorious smooth pearlescence. The oyster has “grown around its suffering”.

It can be a relief to think in this way, because our grief of losing what we have lost does not diminish, we and our life just grow around it, almost like an embrace.

Blessings 🙏
