With this year's theme being "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy," the NAIDOC Family Fun Day was a wonderful way to integrate young people with the history and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

In an open and vibrant environment, we led with Welcome to Country and followed by cultural performers, a free BBQ, face painting, food trucks, information stalls, and more!

We thank the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA indigenous.gov.au), Fairfield City Council, and the FEFAH Working Group for funding the NAIDOC Family Fun Day and allowing us to educate the next generation.

NAIDOC Week is a time to celebrate, recognise, and amplify Indigenous voices, culture, and resilience.

This year's theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy” focuses not only on achievements of the past but on a bright future ahead—a message empowering young people with the information that we, together, hold power; we, together, can create change; and we, together, have the strength to build a better tomorrow.

Equity, fulfilment, and a fair go in life shouldn’t be out of reach; they’re something everyone deserves. At Community First Step, we’re committed to building strong, inclusive communities where every person can find their place and forge a fair future. Our work is grounded in disrupting cycles of disadvantage so that the next generation inherits not just strength and vision, but real opportunity.
