I drove past this today and it caught my attention.
(NSW Health closed this to***co shop for 90 days.)
But it raised an interesting question…
Does shutting down to***co shops actually help smokers quit?
In my experience, not really.
Because smoking isn’t primarily about access to ci******es.
It’s about a pattern in the nervous system.
Coffee → cigarette
Stress → cigarette
Driving → cigarette
Finish work → cigarette.
After years of repetition, the brain runs the pattern automatically.
That’s why many people can go on holidays, stop for a few days… and then the habit comes straight back.
When the pattern in the brain changes, the habit collapses naturally.
That’s the work I do with clients.
