pulled a strong 230kg deadlift double with ease. He’s competing this December at and training harder than ever.
dowsett is gearing up for her first powerlifting competition in December and smashed a 135kg squat double this week, a huge PB! Can’t wait to see her become a force to be reckoned with.

leading by example with a 132.5kg bench double. As one of our coaches at , Brandon’s not only levelling up his coaching, but also making big strides in his own training. He’ll be making a comeback to the platform next year in the 74kg weight class.

hit a smooth 135kg bench single this week as he continues to fine-tune his technique. It hasn’t been the easiest year for Alex with injuries and moving house, but he’s still showing up and getting it done.

has been an absolute weapon and a pleasure to coach. Kristy hit her first-ever 50kg bench last week, a huge milestone! She’s now taking the plunge and signing up for her first powerlifting comp this December at !

hit her first 100kg squat and it looked easy. Kimmy started with us rehabbing her lower back after surgery in December last year and has gone from strength to strength ever since. After taking part in a novice powerlifting comp, she’s now stepping up to a sanctioned competition for the first time this December!

This November, we’re getting behind Movember, the charity event that runs all month long to raise awareness and funds for men’s health.

We’re calling on the entire Avia community, our social media following, the blokes and our amazing Mo-Sisters, to get involved and help us make an impact.

Here’s how you can take part:

Join the team “Slingin’ Steel and Looking Unreal”. The link is in our bio!

For the blokes: Grow a Mo throughout November and wear it proudly.

For everyone (blokes & Mo-Sisters): Take on the 60km walking challenge, that’s just 2km a day!

The celebration: On the last Saturday of the month, we’ll fire up the BBQ at Avia for a community lunch and wrap things up with the live shaving of the Mo.

It’s all about moving together, having fun, and supporting a cause that saves lives.

So, grow it, walk it, or both, and let’s show what the Avia community can do when we come together.

A huge thank you to our amazing staff, members, clients and the wider community for stepping up and supporting our recent food drive for Foodbank Victoria🙏

Your generosity means so much.

Because of your contributions:

-Foodbank is able to support over 65,000 Victorians every day who rely on food relief.

-In the last 12 months, Foodbank Victoria has distributed 23.8 million meals through its network of more than 500 charity partners and 1,000+ schools across the state.

Hi Everyone! 👋

From 11th August to 15th September, Avia is running a Food Drive to help support people in our community who are doing it tough.

We’re asking for donations of non-perishable food items.

Things like canned goods, pasta, rice, cereal, and long-life milk.
You’ll see collection boxes at the front of the gym, and you can drop your items in anytime you visit.

It’s a small gesture that can make a huge difference, and together we can really help those in need.
Feel free to spread the word to friends and family too the more, the better!

🔥 30min Technique and Conditioning Sessions

So many people could make a lot more progress if they had the fundamentals locked down. Technique will always underpin strength, and no matter how experienced you are, if you don't put any attention to refining your technique, you'll always leave kilos to waste.

These 30min sessions are a great opportunity for you to come in and have a clear focus on what you want to get out of the session.

You may just want help with the lower back pain you're experiencing in your squat.

Perhaps you want to learn how to pause bench press or effectively widen your grip?

We're also offering these 30min sessions for those who just want to focus on their conditioning.

You may be an athlete or a fighter who needs helping building their gas tank.

Or perhaps you're just someone who wants to get fitter and improve general markers of heath?

We can't wait to get these sessions

The fitness industry is filled with some pretty questionable people. However there are still some real ones out there.

Please take your time to consume information from people who have some education, have proven results and most of all care about people more than just making coin.

How many times a week should you lift weights?

A lot of athletes panic because they think that as well as their 4+ jiu jitsu sessions a week, they need to be in the gym for at least 4 days a well.

You can get meaningful results in the gym with 1-3 strength and conditioning sessions a week, as long as their focused on the physical adaptations necessary for jiu jitsu.

If you're a jiu jitsu/judo or even MMA athlete who needs a hand with their strength and conditioning, jump into the DMs 👊🏾

This team of 4 lifters did us proud last weekend at .

They executed the plan perfectly to secure us 4th place in the Challengers bracket and a subsequent promotion into the Premier Bracket next year. We also finished up 8th overall out of the 19 teams present.

Some highlights were;

➡️ doing her first sanctioned powerlifting competition

➡️ coming away with a 5kg total PB

➡️ doing the best pre deadlift gee up ever, almost knocking halfway across the gym

➡️ coming away with 1st place in her weightclass

Every single one of the our lifters embraced the 'team first' mentality that and .s.srini wanted and we couldn't be happier with their performances on the day.

People of Avia - Samantha Sutton

Sam is one of the best people we've ever had the pleasure of coaching. She lives near Bacchus Marsh so she's part of our online coaching roster.

She always wants constructive feedback, even if it's not all sunshine and rainbows, so she can learn and get better at powerlifting.

Sam was always strong, but the key to getting her even stronger was to improve the relationship she had with lifting. Instead of viewing it as a chore, .s.srini sought to find ways she could actually enjoy her training. Training should add value to your life, not detract enjoyment from it.

Sam started with us at the start of 2022 and in that time she's added 35kg to her best powerlifting total, done a 180 on her attitude towards lifting and made a bunch of new friendships within our community.

We're very lucky to have you as a part of our community 💪🏾
