Easternview Resolve Clinic At Easternview Resolve Clinic our main focus is helping people with unresolved experiences and traum

Since 1995 Easternview has been involved in complementary health initially in Kinesiology and now Resolve. Resolve is a new modality offering positive change for people who feel that the medical model has not been able to resolve their issues. Our vision is to blend the benefits of western medicine with the principles and philosophies of eastern medicine in order to provide a wholistic approach to health and wellbeing. This not only addresses the elimination of symptoms but does so with an emphasis on investigating and resolving the reasons why the symptoms appear in the first place. We aim to effect noticeable changes and solutions for people by researching and applying the latest in scientific development and study through our unique and ground breaking natural approach. We aim to provide real opportunities for change for those who feel that they have "tried everything" and not improved. Find out more by visiting our website at www.easternview.net

When a client comes into my clinic without the “shopping list” of things they want to work on, I ask them one question:

What’s the one thing you would change that would make your life better? 🤔

This usually is enough to get us started. Today I thought I would flip the script. 🔄

What’s the one thing you wouldn’t change that makes your life better? 😍

Sometimes we need a reminder that we already have something that brings us joy. It can be hard to find, hard to remember, but asking this question might just help.

Tell me your answer in comments below.⬇️

Looking for your heart in your life?

There’s a famous Chinese proverb that I love: When you lose your chickens you know where to look for them, but when you lose your heart you are truly lost. {Mencius 372–289 BC)

It can feel insurmountable to find what sparks your passion and even harder when you know you had it once but now it’s gone. There is hope - you can find it.

It’s the inner work you need to do though, someone else is not going to do this for you, solve this for you, find your heart for you. That’s the catch - it can only come FROM you.

Where to start with the inner work? See a great practitioner that can help you remove the imitations from unresolved trauma and life experiences and you will be well on you way to your best discovery. What is it? That it was there inside you all along, you just needed some help to find it.

Lured by the next spiritual retreat? Being somewhere else like the beach, the rainforest, the desert, the wild, another country (India?), another place? If I go [somewhere] I’ll finally find out who I am… is a myth, and it can be an expensive myth.

The problem with this thinking is that it ignores that fact that you take you with you. The you that is right now, and everything that goes with you, well, goes with you. Changes of scenery, retreats, etc may give you a break from yourself and your life, some space to take a mental breath which you know you need, but why doesn’t it last.

Because its the illusion (delusion?) that finding the answers lies outside of you when it doesn’t. The outside world gives you information, education, aspiration, inspiration even (think the a-ha! moments). What it doesn’t give you is illumination - the inner glow of knowingness that comes from within you, of you knowing you.

What can you do? A simple shift in mindset is a great start and it really is simple. Look at all these ‘somewhere elses’ as an opportunity to create some space to support your journey rather than the answer or the cure to what you think you lack. This will move you much closer to reconnecting to the wonder that is you.

The next step is harder because unresolved trauma unplugs you from you and this is where the work really is. Resolve where you are right now and how you got here and you will begin to rediscover who are. Doing the inner work is so worth the effort. I believe you have it in you. Do you?

My clients often talk about how their past haunts them. What they did or didn’t do, say, know, achieve, get over, move past…

When we have past hurts that remain unresolved we can get caught up in the “if only’s”. If only I’d made that decision, changed that job, lost that weight, met that person, left that person, invested in that property, chose that career option, understood my emotions, coped better, etc. We all do it - yes even me!

It’s completely normal to do this. It helps us change our path, grow as person, learn to be better at being ourselves - but only if its healthy self-reflection.

If we use the “if only’s” to judge ourselves negatively, to think that because of what happened we are less, then we create limitations on who we are or can be.

Be kind to your past self, recognise that you were doing the best you could with what you knew THEN. Now it’s time to resolve the limitations to free yourself from past and find peace.

Are you suffering from memory pain?

In 1895, Sigmund Freud made a diagnosis: I think you are suffering from memories.

It was profound. For the first time, recognition of how much suffering can come from our own memories had entered the then newly developing field of psychotherapy.

So why are we so tormented by our past?

Remembering past trauma and negative experiences prevent us from repeating past mistakes. It gives us something to learn from and grow. The problem is that when we are in a flight and fight (survival) response, learning and growing simply aren’t a priority. They are not going to save you from the tiger (actual or paper).

The longer the trauma remains unresolved and you remain in a prolonged survival response, the more your memories of it will torment you. The key to changing it is to resolve it - not suppress it, ignore it, numb it, justify it, feel better about it, but change it, transform it. Only then will your memories stop haunting you.

Meditation isn’t just about being still and quiet. If you can do this and enjoy it, great! But not everyone can. You can still get the benefit of mindfulness and calm without being rigid about the how.

Meditative practice can be just as effective as the still and quiet method. This involves flow - being in the flow of something where you stop noticing time passing. It involves movement that is calm and gentle.

Some ideas? Strolling on the beach, floating in a pool, crafting, gardening, tai chi, drawing or colouring in, knitting, plus much more.

What do you like to do that feels meditative and calming?

How often have you been told (or told yourself) that the reason you can’t seem to change things is that you don’t want it enough?

I’m calling it out today - that’s BS! Of course you want it enough, more than enough!

But the damage is done, you’ve been made wrong because you haven’t been able to change. Cue feeling crap about yourself.

The real reason you CAN’T change it? You are in defence/fight-flight/survival mode. When would feeling good about yourself save you from the tiger who wants to eat you? Never!

Awareness of the why —> understanding the why —> changing the response to the why —> transforming the why. Now you can be what you’re meant to be.

You are not the problem. What you are telling yourself and believing about yourself is the problem. Resolve that and you will truly be alive.

Fear. It’s the single biggest thing that will prevent you from living your best heart-centred life. 💚

We have fear when we don’t trust ourselves to respond appropriately in any given situation.

We have fear because in our past something happened that now stops us being our best self.

We have fear because we don’t want it to happen again - we just can’t go through it again.

We have fear because we haven’t resolved our past hurts and have to now be in defence to survive.

It’s not about facing your fears, it’s about resolving those experiences that keep you in fear.

Only then can you start to live your best life.

Our Story

At Easternview Resolve Clinic our main focus is helping people with unresolved experiences and trauma and its resulting impact on health and wellbeing. Since 1995 we have been involved in complementary health initially in Kinesiology and now Resolve. Resolve is a new modality offering positive change for people who feel that the medical model has not been able to resolve their issues. Find out more about the Resolve at www.resolvebeyondneurology.com.au - a truly revolutionary approach to trauma and why we can’t seem to get past those difficult experiences in our life. Our vision is to blend the benefits of western medicine with the principles and philosophies of eastern medicine (Chinese medicine philosophy) in order to provide a wholistic approach to health and wellbeing.

Our primary focus is unresolved trauma and the sustained activation of our flight and fight system which creates changes in behaviour and well as debilitating symptoms. At Easternview Resolve Clinic we provide real solutions so that you can resolve the limitations that are holding you back and discover your best life.
