Honoring lives and celebrating legacies Grief is a journey.

If you are reading this page, it is most likely because you are now faced with a decision to create a farewell ceremony for a loved one. A ceremony that celebrates the life of your loved one is a valuable opportunity to begin true healing for grieving family and friends. A Funeral or Memorial is a celebration of a life passed, a declaration of our thanks and gratitude and a fond farewell. It is my role as the Celebrant to create a ceremony that reflects the wishes, beliefs, cultural background and values, religious or non-religious, of your loved one and your family. Services that may or may not be religious in nature nevertheless are both deeply moving and meaningful for those who are bereaved. I believe that your input is an important part of the grieving process and my role is to guide and support you to do as little or as much as you would like. I will create and deliver a beautiful and memorable end-of-life ceremony with warmth, dignity and compassion. It would be a privilege and honour to work with you to create a service that is a healing and comforting process for you, your family and friends.

Vale Jane Goodall

I remember being a little girl, looking at pictures in an old National Geographic magazine from 1965, about a young lady who lived in the jungle with the chimpanzees. From that moment, I dreamed of one day having a chimpanzee of my own.

The lady was Jane Goodall, and inspired the world with her compassion, courage, and groundbreaking work. She showed us that animals are not so different from ourselves, that they have families, emotions, and lives worth protecting. Her legacy is one of hope, respect for nature, and the reminder that every individual can make a difference.

🌸 International Bereaved Mother’s Day 🌸
First Sunday in May

Today, we hold space for the mothers whose arms ache for the children they can no longer hold. For the women who carried life but never got to hear their baby's cry. For the mothers who have outlived their children — whether that loss was recent or decades ago, whether through miscarriage, stillbirth, illness, accident, or any heartbreaking circumstance.

This day exists because Mother’s Day can be a deeply painful time for so many — a time when grief is triggered, yet often invisible. International Bereaved Mother’s Day acknowledges that a mother's love does not end with death, and neither does her motherhood.

To the bereaved mothers:
You are seen. You are loved. You are mothers still.

💐 If you know someone who carries this quiet sorrow, reach out. Say their child’s name. Let them know they are not alone.

Instead of saying, "I know what it feels like", let's say "I cannot imagine your heartbreak".

Instead of saying, "You're strong, you'll get through this, let's say " You'll hurt, and I'll be here.

Instead of saying, "You look like you're doing well, Let's say, "How are you holding up today?"

Instead of saying, "Healing takes time", let's say "Healing has no timeline".

Instead of saying, "Everything happens for a reason, let's say "This must feel so terribly senseless right now".

And when there are no words to say at all, you don't need to try and find some. Love speaks in silences too.

Today is International Bereaved Mother's Day.
A special day to honour and celebrate mums who hold their child/children in their hearts rather than their arms.

A mother is the only person who can carry another human within her body, closely tucked under her heart for nine months. As a mother, when your child dies, you lose a piece of your own heart. I know this first hand.

If you are a bereaved mother, know you are your child’s mother forever! Just because your child died doesn’t mean you’re no longer a mother. You always will be!
