Queensland has recorded 7 new cases of COVID-19 today.

4 cases were locally acquired and are known close contacts. 3 cases were overseas acquired and detected in hotel quarantine.

There are currently 47 active cases and 47 are in hospital.

To date, 1,641 people have recovered from the disease and sadly, 7 people have lost their lives.

This brings the total number of cases in Queensland to 1,722.

A total of 615,144 vaccine doses have been administered in Queensland (not including the number of vaccinations administered by the Commonwealth Government) and 2,983,277 tests.

Each day, total cases may not equal active plus recovered plus deaths, as information for some cases is still pending and will be updated in due course.

Detailed information about COVID-19 cases in Queensland including maps of cases by HHS and LGA, likely source of infection, age and gender, testing completed, and self-quarantine notices issued, can be found here: www.health.qld.gov.au/covid-data

New 3 day lockdown update: starting 6pm tonight (Tuesday 29/6/21) and ending 6pm Friday (2/7/21)

BREAKING: Parts of Queensland will go into a three-day lockdown after cases of COVID-19 transmission were detected in the community.

From 6pm today until 6pm Friday 2 July, residents in the local government areas of Townsville, Palm Island, Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan City, Moreton Bay, Redlands, Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Somerset, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim and Gold Coast can only leave home for one of these four reasons:

1. To buy essentials such as groceries or medications
2. Work or study if you can’t do either from home
3. Exercise in your local area (with no more than one person outside of your household)
4. Healthcare or to provide help, care or support

Cafés, pubs and restaurants will be open only for take away or home delivery.

Visitors at private homes are limited to two.

Funerals are allowed up to 20 people, while weddings are allowed up to 10 people, including the celebrant and witnesses.

Wear a mask when you leave home.

To keep our most vulnerable safe, aged care, correctional centres, hospitals and disability service providers will close to visitors.

The restrictions will be reviewed on Friday morning.

These measures are tough, but they are important to keep Queensland safe.

BREAKING: New restrictions will come into place from 1am Tuesday, 29 June for the 11 local government areas of Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan City, Moreton Bay, Redlands, Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Somerset, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim and Gold Coast.

You must carry a face mask with you at all times whenever you leave your home. Masks must be worn in indoor spaces such as shopping centres, public transport, hospitals, aged care facilities, churches and workplaces where you can’t physically distance.

You must be seated to drink or eat in cafés and restaurants, and businesses and venues must return to the one person per 4m² inside and one person per 2m² outdoors, while smaller venues up to 200m² are allowed one person per 2m² with a maximum of 50 people.

Private gatherings are restricted to 30 people, and up to 100 people can attend weddings and funerals. Only 20 people can dance at weddings.

These measures are about keeping our state safe from the spread of COVID-19 and I know I can count on Queenslanders to step up.
