Shingles vaccine now available.
Patricks Road Amcal Pharmacy now has the Shingrix vaccine in stock and ready to administer. This is the new and improved vaccine for shingles, a painful condition caused by the same virus as chickenpox.

Shingles can affect anyone who has had chickenpox, and the risk increases as you get older. Shingles can cause serious complications, such as nerve damage, vision loss and skin infections. That’s why it’s important to get vaccinated, even if you’ve had shingles before or received the old vaccine (Zostavax).

The Shingrix vaccine is more than 90% effective at preventing shingles and its complications. It’s recommended for all adults over 50, and it’s free for anyone over 65. You need two doses, spaced two to six months apart.

Funded by the Queensland government, the 2024 Free Influenza Vaccination Program has now commenced. The Program will conclude on 30 September 2024.

Our Pharmacists can administer the flu vaccine for all patients aged 5 years and over. Book online or walk in.
