Three Exsight tandems and two solos took part in the Ride for Rotary event today. It was a nippy and windy day but a bit of good fun.
Maria rode with Warren, Annie with Tim and Geoff with Joe. Maria’s friend Joanne rode solo and I rode the recumbent as usual.
We did half a dozen or more laps of the lighthouse circuit and with the ride there and home we each did 30-40km I think.
Our team raised $709 so far and the organisers said the total raised is over $40,000 for Southern Youth and Family Services.
Well done all.

🚴‍♂️ Our First Group Ride! 🚴‍♀️

On Sunday morning, we set off on our first group ride from Queen Margaret University to Longniddry Bents. It may have been misty and chilly, but that didn’t dampen our spirits—we had a fantastic time on the tandems!

Joining the ride were two of our new pilots and a new stoker, alongside Shona, Dougie, and Ian from the team. We were on three bikes, which included an Orbit and a Circe, both kindly loaned by Cycling UK East Lothian —amazing bikes that are a joy to ride!

After covering 30km in the saddle, we wrapped up with a well-earned coffee back at Maggie's Café, with plenty of smiles all around. 😃☕🫖

Introducing Exsight member Maria

Hi I am Maria. Happily married. I am proud mum to Abby my guide dog. I have been bitten by the tandem bug and love riding with Exsight Tandems. Going on a ride is one of the highlights of my week. The coffee and conversation is pretty good too. If you have a disability but would like to try riding I would suggest you get in touch with Exsight and have a chat.
