Day 3 and we did 12km to finish off the weekend.

I did have a close encounter with a copperhead that lunged at me off an embankment thankfully Baxter shied and went to the middle of the road.
By the end of this ride Matty and Baxter were trotting side by side

Baxter is a big kid now 🥰
Baxter has come along way since January 2025 when he come back into work after being gelded. We started back at endurance at the Eaglehawk ride completing 5km and 20km, then the Eldorado ride were went jumped to 40km, Ararat ride 60km. Then the whole game changed we went to Moyston and entered our first 80km we got through in 3rd Heavyweight and Vets Choice, I was hooked so off we went to our home ride GERZ/Toongabbie for our 2nd 80km this time we come 1st Heavyweight and Best Conditioned and our 3rd and final novice ride was at Eldorado again and we come 6th Heavyweight in our biggest ride yet.
I'm so proud of Baxter getting 3 out 3 80km rides completed to become an endurance horse. Now bring on the next 1

I haven't been able to ride due to a few life issues but we got there today and got to try out Baxters new runners thanks to Maree Young fitting some
We did about 3kms to try them out and make sure I was up for it and of course he was cool as a cucumber. Good boy Baxter

First ride of the season done and dusted at Eldorado and what a ride it was.

Finally Baxter and I have completed our 3 80s meaning we are now open 🥳🥰

Baxter had an amazing heart rates the whole way through As and 1s for almost everything just a 2 on skin recoil off the first leg but I managed to get him to drink more on leg 2 so back to 1.

I'm so incredibly proud of Baxter. He has completed 3 80s in a row. He come back into work 13 months ago after being gelded, he was back out on track 4 years after his last ride and has gone from strength to strength.

A massive shoutout to Carolyn Little for always supporting me, for getting me on track with training, for all the training rides. I couldn't have achieved what I have in the last years without you 3.

Alexa Parker thank you for riding Baxter for the last month so I can go live childhood dreams
