Stress , irritability and muscular tension all indicate Liver Qi is not flowing smoothly, while anxiety, overwhelm and feeling ungrounded related back to a lack of Liver Blood.

As the Earth point on a Wood meridian Liver 3/Tai Chong aims to ground AND free flow the Liver Qi meaning that it helps the Liver Qi to move energy smoothly through the body, clearing tension and allowing us to ‘go with the flow’.

To find Liver 3 run your finger upwards from the web between your first and second toes towards the top of the foot until your finger is stopped by bone. There is a small depression where you’ll find the point. It’s usually quite tender.

Spring & the Wood Element 🌱🌸🌱

In Chinese medicine’s 5 Element Theory spring resonates with the Wood element.

🌱 Energetically the movement is up and outwards, sprouting from the seed deep in the soil upwards toward the sun.
It is a time where buried hurts and old injuries can come to the surface and it can feel like a real struggle just to get moving.

🌱 Internally the Liver and Gallbladder organs are energetically heightened. Eat sour to support the Liver Qi, bone broths and protein to nourish the Liver Blood and bitter to support the Gallbladder.

🌱 Physically take special care of your ligaments, tendons and joints (especially those knees and ankles!) Stretching and breathing deep into the diaphragm is key.

🌱 Emotionally when the Wood element is not supported it easily turns to frustration, irritability and anger. Balance this with kindness, both for yourself and others.

If you find yourself struggling with this time of year book yourself in for a treatment. You’ll be glad you did ♥️

We are so excited to welcome the amazing Caz Butler (.butler_tcm.dr ) to the team!

If you haven’t come across her before Caz is an experience practitioner with a strong focus on fertility, menstrual health, pregnancy, stress and burnout. Her work centres on body literacy, integrative care and you as the patient.
While the gorgeous Freddie is unlikely to be joining her in the clinic, her experiences with him will be guiding her as she provides support for new parents tackling postnatal depletion, breastfeeding complications, depleted immunity and all the challenges raising little ones brings.

Caz has had more than her fair share of overwhelming grief and is not afraid to hold that space with you.
She will respectfully offer the support you need, whether it’s a failed cycle, the loss of a child or the grief of how you thought life might look.

She believes Chinese medicine is poetry in motion. Yin, Yang, Qi and balance are not esoteric mythology or t-shirt slogans – they are quantifiable substances that can be manipulated within all of us through the use of acupuncture, herbs and lifestyle.

Caz is available Wednesday evenings and Saturdays

Remember, in Chinese medicine, winter is a time of deep Yin: stillness, rest, and hidden potential.
While it may look like nothing is happening, beneath the surface your energy is gathering, preparing for what’s to come.

This is your permission to slow down, rest deeply, and trust the wisdom of the season. Your spring will come.

Did you know endometriosis is one of the leading causes of infertility?

Endometriosis has the potential to to cause problems with fertility by:
💔Damaging the ovaries and/or fallopian tubes and interfering with ovulation and conception.
💔Creating a hostile environment for s***m due to activating a high macrophage and natural killer cell response. These are white blood cells that eat foreign tissue or material, including s***m, and initiate inflammation.
💔Interfering with the balance of estrogen and progesterone. This imbalance can affect the endometrial lining and the receptivity of the uterus, making it less favorable for implantation and s***m survival.

Acupuncture and herbal medicine provide a natural, holistic approach to reducing inflammation, regulating hormonal balance and improving circulation to improve your chances of conception.
