So good to have Laurie come past the clinic today for a visit. 16 years ago I met Laurie when I moved and then worked at the Nhill Hospital. He was the Allied Health Assistant then, but like I tell everyone, he was one of the best physiotherapists I have ever had the pleasure to know and work with, even if he did not have the degree to his name. He was an inspiration then and is an inspiration today. In fact Laurie was the catalyst for my journey into neurological physiotherapy, and without him, I’m not sure I would have found my path as it is today. Laurie, unwittingly, is such a big part of and will always be a shining example of how to work with people: kind, giving, determined and forever seeing the potential in all. Thank you Laurie for all you have taught me. I hope we have lots more afternoons chatting and reminiscing on those nhill days.

First day of installation of our very own state of the art golf simulator for our patients. We are pretty sure it’s the first golf sim in a neuro physiotherapy clinic or physio clinic in Australia and possibly the world. We are excited to help our patients get back into golf or explore new movements through golf with immediate feedback and start their journey!

Our Story

Bespoke was first started as a husband-and-wife practice by Eyal & Sonya Bernard.

As a highly experienced neuro-physiotherapist, Eyal wanted to dedicate himself to that discipline, using the Bobath Concept treatment model to help patients with their neuroplasticity and potential for enhanced function. Sonya, on the other hand, having a respectable background in Health Information Management and Business Development helping specialists and General Practitioners develop their practices, had a passion for the development/implementation of exceptional health care and associated services.

Prior to opening Bespoke Physiotherapy, Eyal & Sonya spent many hours (usually the early hours of the morning, when their first-born child was awake), discussing how they would set up their “ideal physio practice”: a practice that would provide a different model of care to the usual 20 minute appointment schedule that we have become accustomed to. Instead, patients would receive 60 minutes with a skilled practitioner, where they would receive manual therapies, education and exercises tailored specifically to their presenting condition; an individualized service second to none!

Thus, the name ‘Bespoke’ was born.
