As a Dosel member, you’ll be provided with professional, relevant and practical support on a whole range of issues as follows:

• Conducting and Implementing Strategies using the safe and quality improvement guide
• Gathering evidence and documents
• Submitting to the accreditation agency
• Helping and supporting through the audit procedures
• Maintaining the accreditation by updating supporting documents and training the staff as required
• Supporting accredited practice to submit an annual return progress report against the Practice’s improvement plan on the anniversary of the date of commencement of their current period of accreditation
• Reaccreditation after 2 years

Accreditation is the process of checking and ensuring that systems and processes are in place to improve the safety and quality of care for patients.

Accreditation is one tool, in a range of strategies that can be used to improve safety and quality in a dental practice. It provides a way of verifying:

• Safety and quality systems are in place
• Actions are being taken to improve these systems
• System data is being used to inform activity
• Improvements are made in safety and quality
• The safety and quality of care is being monitored
