We’re excited to welcome Dr Chathura Kahawala to the team at Flagstone Family Practice, starting this Monday!

Dr Kahawala is an experienced and caring GP who has been providing quality healthcare in Australia for over 10 years. He takes a thorough, patient-focused approach and enjoys supporting individuals and families through all stages of life.

His areas of interest include chronic disease management, men’s and women’s health, pregnancy care, paediatrics, and care of older adults. He also offers a range of services including minor procedures, iron infusions, immunisations and travel medicine, WorkCover assessments, and management of conditions such as diabetes, asthma and COPD.

Dr Kahawala is known for his friendly, down-to-earth manner and focuses on clear communication and practical, evidence-based care. He values building long-term relationships with his patients and creating a space where people feel comfortable, heard and supported.

Dear Patients,

We are writing to let you know about an upcoming change to fees for skin cancer related procedures at our practice.

From 1 March 2026, out of pocket expensive will be introduced as per below:

• Skin biopsy: $50
• Skin excision: $50 to $100, depending on complexity and time required
• Flaps and grafts: $150
• Cyst or lipoma excision: $100

- Please note procedure costs may vary depending on the item number billed at the review appointment, the billing item is determined by your results.

The procedure fee is payable on the day of your appointment, and a deposit will be taken, Medicare rebates will be processed on the day of your review appointment, once final payment is received and results are discussed.

Our doctors and clinical team remain committed to providing safe, thorough, and high-quality care.

Early diagnosis and prompt treatment of skin cancer are key to achieving the best outcomes.
