A brief description to tell the story:
This painting is called Yamanha,Yalbilinya Wiragjuri Ngurambang. Which means Go together, speak learn on Wiradjuri Country.
The Gugaa (Goanna) Garru (Magpie) Biladurang (Platypus) Totem colours. School and sporting colours of Forbes.
Top right is where my Birrang begins with my Great Grandmother from Peak Hill. It represents our ancestors looking over us.
The Rainbow Serpent represents Forbes where knowledge and respect is passed on from our Elders past and present (Muyulung-galang Maradhul-bu yaala-bu
The Birrang Yarang-galang (Journey lines) take us to resting areas where the Menβs group learn, yarn, laugh, share stories and connect with Country Ngurambang),
This represents growing, learning and moving forward into the unknown with the knowledge that the menβs group have your Birra (Back)
I'm honoured to paint this for Jeff and his menβs Group. Iβm very proud to be a life time Gambang (Brother) and am Nanhaynanabinha (Very lucky) to know him.
