𝙈𝙮 𝙀𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝘼𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙨
I love chocolate but it doesn’t always love me back. Therefore, I add these two herbs to my tonic to take in the lead up to Easter. 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝘆𝗺𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗮 take all the hard work out of practising 𝘣𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭 through the Easter celebrations. With these beauties in my tonic, I can have a small amount of chocolate without overindulging.

𝘉𝘰𝘵𝘩 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘨𝘢𝘳 𝘭𝘰𝘢𝘥 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮 and therefore assist in preventing the slump in energy that generally follows. Gymnema can be a little mean in that it 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗱𝘀 on your tongue and therefore results in you not 'loving' sweet flavours as much.

However, that's not all it does: Several studies have shown Gymnema also works by reducing the intestinal absorption of glucose and therefore slowing the uptake of sugar into the bloodstream. These herbs must be dispensed through a naturopath or herbalist. Contraindications with certain medications have to be considered. *𝘈𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘬 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘧𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴.

𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙈𝙚
Hi everyone, my name is Robyn, I am a naturopath and herbalist by profession and a medicinal plant and chicken crazed lady in my spare time.

Here is a photo of me at one of my favourite local beaches, enjoying the beauty and reprieve from the blaring Queensland sun under a stunning She Oak tree.

I feel blessed to say this glorious stretch of coastline is just 10 minutes from my home and clinical practice, on the Sunshine Coast.

I look forward to sharing some insights into what I value and enjoy most as a natural healthcare practitioner. Through this sharing, I hope to connect with my patients more and create a happy, healthy, and honest space for us to gather as a community and work on our health goals together.
