This biscuit isn’t just food… it’s a Time Machine!

ANZAC Day always brings this one out of the oven… and honestly, it’s never just about the ingredients.

It’s the smell that hits first.

That warm, golden, buttery moment that instantly takes you somewhere.

For me, it’s memories.

For so many kids (including mine), it’s one of the very first recipes they ever make in the kitchen.

And that’s the stuff we don’t talk about enough…

Food isn’t just nutrients. It’s connection. It’s confidence. It’s “I made this!” moments. It’s tiny humans learning life skills without even realising.

We’re not just feeding bodies… we’re shaping memories.

I stopped drinking kombucha and bone broth… and guess what? Anxious feelings went away!

Yep.

Years ago, the “health foods” I thought were helping me… were actually causing me to feel MORE wired.

Kombucha. Bone broth. Kimchi. Fermented everything.

All the things you’re told to have for your gut health!

But here’s what no one talks about…Many of these are high in glutamate (an excitatory neurotransmitter).

Meaning instead of calming your system…they can actually speed it up.

For some people (🙋🏼‍♀️ hi, me). That looks like:
– Racing thoughts
– Feeling “on edge”
– Jittery energy
– Overthinking EVERYTHING

Not exactly the calm, glowing health vibe we were promised.

And it’s not because these foods are “bad”… In fact, they are scientifically proven to be fabulous for gut health! It may be because YOUR particular body's chemistry might not be breaking the glutamate down well (due to stress, gut health (go figure), or GENETICS).

This is why I don’t teach “healthy vs unhealthy"

I teach:
👉 How YOUR body responds
👉 What YOUR body needs
👉 How to actually listen to it

Because sometimes…The thing you think is helping you is the exact thing keeping you accelerating at full power without a break.

And this kind of information is what gets the biggest reactions in my adult workshops!

This ONE prop just hijacked my entire workshop… 😆

Bought this absolute UNIT of a whoopee cushion after we had a blowout over the holidays with the original 😆🫣.

Safe to say… things have escalated.

There are SO many props, so many volunteers, and now…sound effects for the grand finale!

We do a “sound check” (obviously)…And I genuinely cannot wait to see their faces when I whip out this giant bad boy.

Because let’s be honest…if we’re going to learn about our bodies…we’ve got to embrace all of it.

But let’s talk about the REAL highlight about cruises…The Food!!

I asked the kids in my workshop last week…
“Do you think I can fit ALL the food on the cruise into this size stomach?” ✊

Cue giggles. Every time.

Because even on a cruise… with food EVERYWHERE…
👉 Your body still has limits
👉 And your body actually talks to you (if you listen)

I might be good… but I’m not that good 😂

My real “magic trick”?
🚶‍♀️ Big walks after eating - hello stairs.
💧 Water
👂 Listening when my body says “that’s enough”… most of the time 😆🤔

Also… missing Midas the whole time 🐶💛

Your brain isn’t broken… it’s underfed. 🧠

I used to think something was wrong with me.
Scared to go to school. Overthinking everything.

But no one ever asked…
👉 was my brain and belly getting what it actually needed?

When I started eating real food from the ground, colour, variety, actual nutrients…. things began to shift. Not overnight. But enough to notice.

This is why I do what I do. So many kids tell me they are afraid to go to school. Nutritious foods don’t just help to keep us healthy, they also can play a huge role in our mental wellbeing.

Because kids deserve to understand their bodies, not fear them.

We have WHAT in our tummy?!

This is why I don’t just tell kids what to eat…
I teach them how their body actually works.

Like a mechanic understanding a car…once they get it, everything makes more sense.

That’s where the real power is.

I started following a content strategy again… and it nearly broke me 😂
I delegated this...but people knew it wasn't me in the end. I also lost one of my creative outlets.

So I’m going back to simple - which is what always works! Why do we always overcomplicate things? And honestly? I don’t do generic very well.

Real posts. Real thoughts. Real conversations.

Let’s see what happens.
