12.30-1.30pm (Adelaide/Darwin - ACST)
11am-12pm (Perth - AWST)

Format:
They will run similar to a drop-in session.
The format is casual and does not have a lead facilitator who runs things-more just a facilitator who just starts the meeting and provides prompt questions if needed.
They are also able to read out the chat for those who prefer to participate this way.
This is so anyone can do this role in the group (which to start with will be me).
Someone will always be there to talk to for whomever decides to attend.
Intro in chat or out loud (or not)
Discussion starter questions (if required)
Mason will be reading out chat participation.

One of the most anticipated sessions at 🌱Thriving Autistically: Online Wellbeing Event for Autistic Adults 2025 is a poignant and powerful discussion on Autistic Aging with Bridgette Hamstead & KJ Wiseheart.

Our first intimate Autistic Elders discussion session filled up with Neurokindred community members two weeks ago. This one is on Day 3 and includes our Autistic Elders facilitator Meg Carter and promises to be a rich dialogue.

So in response to demand, both Bridgette & KJ have generously agreed to run a second session on the final day of our event.

Thriving Autistically 2025 is a free, online wellbeing festival led by and for Autistic adults. I'm thrilled that Neurokindred, the organiser of this event, has invited me to be part of it!

I’m delighted to be facilitating a session called Exploring Our Career Stories: A Narrative Approach to Career Development on Thursday 9 October, 2:00pm Brisbane AEST.

This session invites us to reflect on our personal and professional journeys and uncover new perspectives on thriving and wellbeing through narrative practice. I will also include an introduction to career counselling and what that looks like with me.

David Gray-Hammond is an Autistic, ADHD, and schizophrenic author and internationally respected advocate. Their work has become essential reading for many in our community, offering clarity and courage in naming the realities that so often go unseen.

From accessible descriptions & framings for our complex internal experiences, insightful and real discussions about lived experience of psychosis and psychiatric abuse to the complex intersections of substance use, trauma, and survival.

David has also been a leading voice in shaping conversations around neuroqueering and challenging neuronormative expectations in systems and organisations.

Neurokindred is launching “Meet the Author Lounge” as a metaphorical fireside gathering, where Autistic leaders, advocates, authors, poets, and artists can bring their work, their why, and their dreams to share in this community space. We are deeply honoured to welcome David as our very first guest, and to gather around as they share their wisdom, projects, and plans for the future.

David has said they are open to all questions about any of their work so sign-up today for this unique experience.
