Bad news for gonorrhoea prevention - this large randomized trial found that the Meningococcal B vaccine does not help prevent gonorrhoea. Some observational studies had suggested otherwise but now we know better. The good news is that if you’ve had the vaccine you are protected against meningococcal B infection!

Results from a major randomised control trial provide strong evidence that the meningococcal B vaccine is not effective at preventing gonorrhoea among gay and bisexual men.

Yesterday I had the best time at the HIV Peer Navigator Conference in Brisbane, giving a treatments update and workshopping some cases. Such an amazing bunch of people, and an incredible resource for people with HIV who need support. HIV peer navigators rock!
