We are so pleased to introduce Gemma Truscott, a Registered Psychologist who brings a thoughtful and collaborative approach to our clinic.

Gemma works with adolescents and adults across a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and relational concerns. She is particularly passionate about a neurodiversity-affirming approach, focusing on supporting and developing each client’s unique strengths. 🤝

Gemma’s areas of focus include:
🧠 Providing evidence-based care for Autism and ADHD, with a specific interest in the experiences of women and girls.
🌱 Exploring how family-of-origin experiences shape current thoughts, emotions, and relationships.
🍼 Supporting families through child development and the transition to parenthood.
🛡️ Gemma’s postgraduate research explored the intersection of ADHD and trauma, informing her evidence-based practice.

Betrayal is one of the most destabilising human experiences. 🌿

When the people we trust turn against us, or misrepresent our character to others, it can leave us feeling isolated and misunderstood.

The most important thing to remember? Someone else’s choice to distort the truth is not a reflection of your worth.

Healing takes time, but you don't have to do it in isolation. A psychologist can provide a neutral, safe space to process betrayal and rebuild trust in yourself. ❤️‍🩹

Most of us mean well when setting New Year’s resolutions, but they are often unrealistic and rigid. When life inevitably ‘gets in the way’ and our resolutions fall to the wayside, it can make us feel like we’ve failed.

Instead, we encourage thinking about the new year as an approach to life, rather than a checklist to complete. One that’s flexible enough to adapt to changing circumstances, and focused on growth rather than perfection. 🌿

Being kind to yourself when things don’t go as planned is an ongoing practice, and continuing to move toward what matters to you, even in small ways, is still meaningful progress.

Wishing you all the best for 2026, and reminding you that support is available if you need it. 💛

In my work as a relationship counsellor, I often meet couples who feel unsure about what counselling will actually be like.

Many worry about being judged or blamed, and others hope that therapy will ‘fix’ their partner.

In reality, relationship counselling is a space to understand each other more clearly, and explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

My role isn’t to take sides or decide who’s right. It’s to support the relationship, while recognising each person’s experience.
