Introducing Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist Dr Madhavi Kasi 👏

Renowned for her patient-centred approach and commitment to high-quality care, Dr Kasi is one of the newest specialists to join the Montserrat Medical Services team. Originally from India, she brings extensive international experience and holds memberships with both the Royal College of Physicians (UK) and the Royal Australian College of Physicians.

Dr Kasi treats a wide range of liver and digestive conditions, including:

🩺 Liver conditions – NAFLD/NASH, viral hepatitis, alcohol-related liver disease, autoimmune and complex liver diseases

🔬 Gastroenterology – coeliac disease, bowel issues and functional GI disorders, complex reflux disease and bowel cancer screening

Dr Kasi was a proud recipient of the Excellence in Patient Care Award during her Cambridge Fellowship in Hepatology and Liver Transplants in the UK.

She is also a no-gap provider for eligible privately insured patients (excluding insurer excesses and any applicable anaesthetist fee).

Montserrat Medical Services team of Gastroenterologists and General Surgeons is expanding, and we’re excited to welcome our newest member, Dr Robert Gilmore!

Dr Gilmore is a respected Gastroenterologist, clinician, researcher, and patient advocate. He’s been privileged to complete fellowships at the Royal Alexandra Hospital Glasgow, Austin Health Melbourne, and Mater Hospital Brisbane, leading to his Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2023.

Currently completing a PhD at the University of Queensland (UQ), Dr Gilmore’s research focuses on novel therapies for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). He also holds a lecturer and fellow position at UQ, leads clinical trials, and has been widely published in Australian and international medical journals. As an invited speaker, he shares his expertise both nationally and internationally.

Ex-Tropical Cyclone Update: Returning to normal hospital operations

As Tropical Cyclone Albert has now been downgraded to a tropical low, we are focussed on returning to normal hospital operations and safely resuming services.

Our Queensland facilities will all re-open tomorrow morning, Monday 10th March and elective procedures are scheduled to proceed.

We continue to monitor weather and flooding conditions carefully. Should there be any changes or further updates impacting planned procedures, we will be contacting patients directly.

We remain fully committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all patients, staff, and visitors.

Please only travel to our facilities if conditions allow for your safe passage. If there is flooding in your area and/or you are unable to attend the hospital, please advise our team as soon as possible.

Tropical Cyclone Alfred Update 🚨
