At Mentis Assist, we encourage everyone to take a moment today — and every day — to check in with the people around you. Listen with empathy, be present, and let them know support is available.

Feeling tense or overwhelmed? 🌿
Here’s a gentle 5-step reset to help you reconnect with the present moment and find a sense of calm.

✨ Calm in 5 Steps
1️⃣ See – Notice five things around you.
2️⃣ Feel – Pay attention to four things you can touch.
3️⃣ Hear – Listen for three distinct sounds.
4️⃣ Smell – Identify two scents nearby.
5️⃣ Taste – Focus on one taste in your mouth.

Take a slow, deep breath. You’re here. You’re safe. You’re okay. 💙

💤 Sleep + Mental Health💙

We all know how a bad night’s sleep can make us feel cranky or foggy the next day – but over time, poor sleep can have a much bigger impact on our mental health.

😴 Why sleep matters for your mind:
• Regulates mood – Sleep helps balance brain chemicals that affect emotions.
• Reduces stress – Restorative sleep lowers cortisol (the stress hormone).
• Improves focus – A well-rested brain thinks more clearly and makes better decisions.
• Supports resilience – Good sleep helps us cope better with life’s challenges.

On the flip side, long-term sleep problems can increase the risk of anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.

✨ The takeaway?
Prioritising good sleep isn’t just self-care – it’s a powerful way to protect your mental wellbeing.

We’re proud to continue delivering the Commonwealth Psychosocial Support (CPS) program with our valued partner Kindred Clubhouse, and alongside Ermha360.

The extension of CPS until June 2027 is fantastic news for our community—ensuring ongoing access to vital, person-centred mental health support across all 10 LGAs in south east Melbourne.

This program plays a crucial role in helping people living with severe mental illness regain confidence, build independence, and reconnect with community life.

We look forward to walking alongside more individuals on their journey of recovery and resilience.

Mentis Assist proudly joined Cardinia Shire Council’s agricultural wellbeing event, an evening designed to support the mental health and resilience of farmers and agricultural workers across the region.

Held in the heart of Cardinia’s farming community at the Corra Lynn Football/Netball Club, the event brought together vital stakeholders including Agriculture Victoria (AgVic), NEX Business Farming Wellness, and the Victorian Farmers Federation (VFF).

With a free barbecue, fresh scones, and refreshments offered throughout the evening, the event created a warm and welcoming environment for connection, learning and open conversations, especially about the pressures of farming life in the face of financial uncertainty and climate challenges.

Mentis Assist was proud to be part of these conversations, listening to farmers' stories and ensuring they knew mental health support is available and accessible—no matter how remote their location or unique their challenges.

Supporting mental health in the agricultural sector isn’t just about services—it’s about presence, empathy, and partnership. We thank Cardinia Shire Council and all the collaborators for creating such a meaningful space for connection.

Our presence at this event reinforced Mentis Assist’s commitment to reaching communities where they live and work, including those in regional and rural areas. By being part of these conversations, we’re helping to reduce stigma, build relationships, and remind our farming communities that mental health support is always within reach.

📣 We’re Proud to Announce… Audit Success! 🎉

Mentis Assist is thrilled to share that we were recently audited against the National Safety and Quality Mental Health Standards for Community Managed Organisations — and the results were outstanding!

The auditors commended our organisation for excellence in service delivery, governance, and person-centred care. We couldn’t be prouder of the work we do every day to support our communities towards better mental health outcomes.

This achievement is the result of incredible teamwork across all levels of our organisation.
We extend our deepest thanks to:

* Our amazing staff across programs
* The clients and Participant Advisory Group members who shared their voices
* Our Executive team and Board members for their leadership and guidance
*Our responsive and supportive Admin team
* And a special shout-out to our brilliant Quality, Compliance and Risk Officer -Deb, for her outstanding commitment and guidance in the lead-up to and throughout the audit 🙌

Thank you also to everyone who participated in interviews with the audit team — your insights impressed the auditors!

We marked the occasion with a staff celebration last Friday afternoon. Sadly, many of us had left before anyone remembered to take a photo— but the sense of pride was very real! 🎂

Here’s to continuing our journey of safe, quality, inclusive mental health support. 💙
