“You are only afraid if you are not in harmony with yourself.”

It’s confronting to realize you’ve been holding your breath around certain people, performing a version of yourself that feels just slightly off-key.

Over time, you start noticing the difference between those who leave you energized and those who leave you needing days to recover. Between people who help you feel more yourself and those who make you question if you ever were enough.

Seeking “pure souls” and “kind hearts” might sound a bit naive or abstract, but anyone who’s lived through enough surface-level connections understands. It’s not about expecting perfection from people, but about those who own their mess, who can sit with discomfort without making it yours, who know healing isn’t linear but stay committed anyway.

Real presence is rare. Most of us are so split across anxieties and roles that being fully with someone feels radical. When you meet someone who truly listens and receives your energy, it’s startling in the best way.

Compatibility runs deeper than shared interests. It’s about relationships where both people show up as themselves, even when that self is uncertain. Where growth is celebrated, not threatened. Where love is embodied, not performed.

Selectiveness comes after you’ve tried the other way. After confusing being needed with being valued, and mistaking intensity for depth. It arrives when you realize that trust, growth, and depth matters more than just having fun or history with someone.

Peace is found in people who can hold silence, who sit with pain without trying to fix it, and who understand that intimacy requires the risk of being known. Not everyone will understand this shift, and that’s okay. You’re not looking for everyone. You’re looking for those who feel safe to your nervous system, who remind you that connection is worth the risk, and who show that evolution doesn’t have to be lonely.

When you stop performing availability for everyone, you become open to the ones who truly arrive.

The gift of pain is one of life’s strangest alchemies. It carves deep hollows within us, but these empty spaces transform into vessels perfectly shaped to hold the pain of others. When you’ve navigated your own darkness, you gain an intuitive ability to recognize it in another’s eyes.⁣

There’s a sacred moment in that recognition. A quiet but powerful connection: “I see you. I know this shadow you carry.” Often, we reach out because we remember what it felt like to stand alone in our storms, longing for someone to offer shelter or light. That shared humanity becomes the bridge between wounds, creating a space for healing.⁣

This kind of compassion is precious, but it can also be consuming. If you’re not mindful, the same heart that wants to carry others can collapse under the weight of too much. Supporting someone doesn’t mean sacrificing yourself. Boundaries aren’t walls, but bridges offering self-preservation, allowing you to keep showing up without losing yourself.⁣

Compassion is a renewable resource, but only if you care for its source. You can’t be a sanctuary for others if your own foundation is crumbling. To honour someone else’s pain without abandoning your own healing is an act of wisdom and love. Real compassion isn’t about martyrdom; it’s about walking alongside someone while staying rooted in your own needs.⁣

Finding this balance allows you to give from a place of abundance, not depletion. It ensures that your kindness doesn’t become self-erasure and that your gift of holding space remains as healing for you as it is for them.

Sometimes, rest
is all you need,
to bring you back,
to yourself,
and to all you love.
Take time
just to sink into ..
Coming home,
to your safe place.
Embrace the joy and security
Of your home comforts.
Relax into each breath
As you notice
the chaos of life
Leave you,
Quietly,
Cocooned in love
and safety.
You're home ..

That quote from Marilyn Monroe reflects a powerful observation about gender dynamics and confidence in society. It suggests that many talented women often struggle with self-doubt, while mediocre men may exude confidence regardless of their abilities. Monroe, herself a complex figure, faced both adoration and scrutiny, embodying the challenges women encounter in the pursuit of recognition and success. This idea resonates beyond her time, highlighting ongoing conversations about gender equality, self-perception, and the barriers women face in various fields. Monroe’s words continue to inspire discussions about the need for women to embrace their capabilities and assert their place in the world.

Such a lovely afternoon yesterday facilitating a Libra New moon circle. We embraced the divine feminine and divine masculine and did a powerful meditation combining yin and Yang energies
We asked the goddesses to come to visit. For me it was ISIS - The High Priestess of Magic & Transformation. I have a love and connect strongly with Egyptian mythology so it was wonderful to feel that powerful energy in the room with all the silver and gold yin and yang energy blending as well!
A reminder to believe in Magic and allow ourselves to feel it! And to also remember that we are always in a state of transforming ourselves when we are doing the work 🙏🙌🏻
