How did spend your Sunday? I started mine with .carmen.yoga at 8 am, she’ll be holding a regular Sunday Morning class in frankston. Then I held a meditation class with some wonderful women. Starting the week right in a place where the soul is nurtured. 💝🌈

So you know what I have learnt, especially this year. Most people don’t like women with a voice. Many people (men & women) fear someone who is smart (EQ & IQ).
They fear authenticity and mostly change (unless they think it’s their idea).

See they want you to just “play nice”. I mean what the f**k is nice. Smile. Look pretty. Don’t say anything at all. Nod. Agree. Don’t raise your voice. Don’t disagree. Be seen & not heard. Be ordinary, but not too ordinary because at work they want your skills to make them look amazing. Dont be too smart - well don’t be smarter than them. Don’t answer back. Stay quiet.

Not being nice doesn’t mean not being Kind, compassionate, loving. But I’ll keep those things for who are deserving (and those who are deserving will love your authenticity).

Setting boundaries and using my voice is far better than being Nice. Nice is beige.

Share kindness. Be supportive. Listen (like really listen). Be present. Hold space. Try not to take it personal (it’s not about you). Let go of people, jobs or anything that doesn’t make you feel like you aren’t wanted and heard. Find your tribe. Let go of anger. Your trauma is not your fault. You are not your past. Be proud of how far you’ve come. Don’t criticise empathise. You are loved.

I read this post by Donna Ashworth and shared it on my personal page, I have read it a number of times because it resonates and thought I must share this here.
I am spiritual but suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder. And sometimes I feel Sad. It’s ok. I’m human. As are you. Sending those of you who maybe struggling a little today a big Virtual hug. ❤️

HOSTING SAD

Sometimes I wake up sad. For no reason.
And I know, as soon as my eyes open, that today, I am sad.
I can choose positive thoughts, have a cold shower, run on the treadmill, but I will still be sad.

And counting my blessings, on days like this, makes me even more sad.
How lucky I am and how tenuous that is.
How others are not so blessed and how unfair that is.

And I’ve learned to accept these little bouts of sad, or soul-flu, as I have now come to call them.
They are not within my control, this I know.
I don’t fear them anymore, they can’t harm me - because I don’t ‘become’ them.

I just let my ‘sad’ in the door and say “hey, how are you, take a seat…but don’t stay too long please, I have things to do.”

And I rumble along in my mental kitchen, making tea, emptying the dishwasher. And my sad sits there and just exists, without judgement or acrimony. Just acceptance.

I know she is many things you see, other than just sad. She is love, she is grief. She is fear, she is weariness and worry, and really, she puts up with rather a lot in this life.

So I give her a cup for tea. And listen to her sorrows, until she’s ready to go back outside again.

Sometimes I wake up and sad has already let herself in.
But I don’t scold her for that.
She’ll go soon.
And really, she deserves a warm place, every now and again, this world gives her much to bear.

Sometimes, I wake up sad.
For no reason.
And that’s okay.

P.S: when sad is visiting, I look like exactly the same. You would never know I’m hosting her…unless you ask.

Let's not end this conversation at COB today. Let this question be in your mind all day, every day.
I know that asking someone if they are ok can be challenging, but that one question can change someone's life. Sometimes, asking yourself that question is important too and reaching out to someone trusted to say I'm not ok.

The stats are that 1 in 8 people have contemplated su***de.
What can we do?
Pay attention to your friends, family and colleagues.
Notice a change in behaviours, listen to their words, hear them. You don't need solutions. You just need to hold space for them. Remember, everyone has life circumstances that can cause them to suffer mental health issues.

Instinctively, we are meant to live in a village and be connected to one another the world, as it has caused us to feel isolated.

Create a village and be connected, help each other.

I'm here to hear always.

My Grandmère when I was 15 told me when I was sick you have to give it back to the air. She said “everything” needs air. Only as I got older I understood fully what she meant.

We’ve had sickies in our house this week, plus the energy at the moment is a bit “agghhh”, it’s feeling a little hard. I for one have gone very internal contemplating life a little but have been trying to give my thoughts “air” by having deep conversations with those that understand me. Today, I knew I needed tree healing (not the sea which is my go to) to give my energy “air”.

What’s advice you’ve given that helps you?

On our walk this morning, we decided to greet every person with a smile & good morning. Some people genuinely seemed shocked & grunted back, while others giggled a good morning. But mostly, people’s lips turned up and pointed to the sky! The best part for Steve & I was it completely lifted us and started our day in such a kind & positive way.

What can you do to change your day?

There’s currently a theme I’ve been seeing with many of you over the last few weeks (including me), and that is CHANGE. Change is inevitable. Just like the earth, we have seasons. The Earth 🌏 changes because it keeps moving around the sun ☀️. If it stayed still, we would have the same season day in and day out.

But the earth needs the seasons so it can produce growth and life; even the dormancy of winter is necessary. That is when plants 🍃 reserve their energy 🔋 to “spring “ into action, and the soil changes getting ready for growth.

So if you are in a period of change, know this, you are moving - which is amazing. Life would be boring if you stayed the same (in fear of change). Even if you are currently feeling dormant, you are just getting ready and reserving your energy (to “spring into action”). Remember, change is needed for growth and to be your best version.

Allow yourself to shift and move with your seasons; wonderful regeneration is about to come. Breathe 🧘🏽‍♀️ don’t resist the change…

Let me know what season you are in?
You’ve got this. I believe in you.
