You might notice a bit of a theme from us over the next couple of months leading up to our September course.

We’re focusing on motorbike first aid a little more in our public awareness posts.

It’s not all we do — but it is something close to home.

We come from a family of riders. Road, dirt… it’s always been part of life.

And like a lot of people in small communities, we’ve seen the other side of it too.

We’ve heard the stories.
We’ve seen the long recoveries.
We’ve been around when things didn’t go to plan.

It sticks with you.

That’s a big part of why we built this course.

Not from a textbook — but from real experiences, and generations of stories from riders and families.

If we can help someone make a bad day just a little better… that’s enough for us.

You’ll see more motorbike-focused posts from us over the coming months 🏍️

There’s more than one way to administer adrenaline in an emergency.

From EpiPen and Anapen auto-injectors to newer options like neffy® nasal spray, understanding your options is key.

Always follow your training and medical advice.

School holidays are here… which also means germs, bumps, and the occasional “I don’t feel well” 🤒

A few simple First Aid tips to get you through:

• Fevers – keep fluids up (icy poles for the win), light clothing, monitor how they’re acting (not just the number)
• Cuts & scrapes – clean it well, cover it, and keep an eye out for redness or swelling. Antiseptic powder is my go-to
• Vomiting / tummy bugs – small sips of fluids often (hydration is key)
• Falls & bumps – ice, rest, and watch for anything unusual after

Most things are minor… but knowing what to do makes a big difference.

Trust your gut — if something doesn’t feel right, get it checked.

Enjoy the chaos, the snacks, and the extra time together 😅

Been a rough few weeks with bike accidents around the area.

We’re running a Motorcycle First Aid course in Freeling (Aug 15) — built around real crash scenarios, not just classroom stuff.

You’ll get hands-on with bleeding control, injuries, and what to do when things go bad on the road or track.

No fluff. Just practical skills you can actually use.

Courses from $80

💙 Rocking bright colours this week? Too right. 💙

Around here, we don’t do boring — it’s bright socks, loud hats, and a bit of chaos… just how we like it 😄

This week is about Autism Awareness (and acceptance) — and celebrating the incredible humans who see the world a little differently.

Our girl keeps us on our toes, makes us laugh daily, and honestly… is out here changing the world in her own way. 💙

Autism isn’t something to “fix”.
It’s something to understand, support, and embrace — even if that means things look a little different sometimes.

(And let’s be real… different is way more fun anyway.)

We’re also proud to be members of the SA Autism Charter, backing inclusion, respect, and real support in our community.

So if you see the bright colours — give us a nod.
Or better yet… join in.

💙 Be kind. Be patient. Be inclusive.
💙 And never underestimate a kid who does things their own way.

Huge shoutout to Barossa Motorcycles and especially Chad for their generous donation of this helmet for our Motorcycle First Aid Course! 🏍️🪖

Manny the manikin has stepped up to model it for us… and honestly, we’re not sure what’s scarier — a real crash scene or Manny’s teeth 😬

Jokes aside, this donation helps us create more realistic, hands-on training so riders can be better prepared when it matters most.

We really appreciate the support for rider safety and our local community 🙌

We’re building some VERY realistic crash scenarios for our motorbike courses…

And we need your help 👇

We’re looking for:
🧥 Old riding gear (jackets, pants, gloves)
🪖 Helmets past their use
🩹 Anything we can safely “destroy” for training
and old non salvageable motorbikes

Why?

Because training on clean mannequins isn’t real life.

We want people training with:
✔ Torn gear
✔ Blood simulation
✔ Realistic crash setups

If you’ve got old gear sitting in the shed — we’ll happily take it off your hands

MYTH: “Just tell people once and they’ll remember.”

Reality?

Not how people work — especially under stress.

We’ve seen it in our own family — people don’t all learn the same way.

It’s changed how we teach:

✔ Keep it simple
✔ Make it hands-on
✔ Repeat what matters
✔ Train for real situations

Because when things go wrong, people don’t remember lectures.

They remember what they’ve practiced.

That’s how we run our courses.

This month we’ve been doing a few kilometres — travelling everywhere from Balaklava (such a lovely town) down to the Parafield area, delivering training wherever we’re needed… including turning this Pilates studio into a temporary CPR classroom.

Across primary schools, high schools, Pilates studios, construction sites and public courses, this month we’ve trained around 170 students in life-saving skills.

Turns out CPR mannequins are welcome just about anywhere… although they’re still not very good at Pilates.

We’re proud to keep showing up across the north and surrounding communities — helping build confidence, skills, and a few laughs along the way.

✨ Something we’ve been doing for a long time… but most people don’t know about

If you’re currently studying through Adelaide University, don’t miss out — we offer a student discount, and it’s super easy to access.
Just make sure your payment is made through AUSA to qualify.

And while you’re here… have you checked out the new page on our website?
We’re always changing, always improving, and adding clearer info to make things easier for everyone.

Take a look and let us know what you think.

True question we got asked this month at a school:

“What do you do if you get bitten by a snake… on the butt?” 🐍

(Yes — bush wee situation 😅)

Answer:
👉 Stay calm (hard, but important)
👉 Apply pressure immobilisation bandage
👉 Keep still — movement spreads venom
👉 Get help ASAP

And maybe… check where you squat first 👀

We cover real-life, slightly awkward scenarios like this in our training — because injuries don’t wait for perfect situations.
