🎉🥇 We are absolutely egg-static to announce that not only did the pottery chickens our residents created take out FIRST PLACE at the Gawler Show… but we also received the Raylene Bowden Memorial Award for BEST Exhibit 2025! 🏆🐓Our residents are strutting around like prize roosters today — and rightly so! 🐔✨A huge congratulations to everyone who rolled up their sleeves in pottery class to make these cheeky chooks come to life. And a BIG thank you to Belinda from Clay is Cool for guiding us, inspiring us, and helping us truly reach for the stars. 🌟💛What a proud moment for Wheatfields and a true testament to the creativity and talent of our community.

🌿 A Different Kind of Gardening at Petal Pals Today! 🌿Today, our residents enjoyed a unique twist on traditional gardening during our Petal Pals group. Instead of planting in soil, we gently removed the dirt from the roots of our baby plants, gave them a refreshing wash in clean water, and placed them in beautiful little glass jars—perfect for watching them grow!

Wednesday Winos were back in action today! 🍷We had a wonderful afternoon tasting four delicious red wines from Z Wines in the Barossa. Each wine was carefully paired with meat, chocolate, and cheese to bring out the rich flavours — and the residents absolutely loved it!A special moment unfolded when I went to collect the wines. Kristen from Z Wines asked where the tasting would be held, and when she heard it was at Wheatfields, her face lit up — her uncle is one of our residents!To our delight, she gifted us a very special bottle called "Audrey," which featured a photo of Kristen’s Grandma — our resident’s sister! When the wines were set out on the table, he immediately noticed the bottle and asked, “That says Audrey... that’s my sister’s name!” He turned it around, saw the photo, and with a big smile said, “That is my sister!” He was absolutely chuffed, and it made for a beautiful, heartfelt moment for everyone at the table.It’s amazing how wine, memories, and a little bit of serendipity can bring people together.

🎄🎶 Christmas came early at Wheatfields🎶🎄Last Friday, our residents got into the festive spirit with a joyful Christmas Sing-Along as part of our Christmas in July celebrations! 🌟Everyone had a wonderful time belting out the classic carols we all know and love – and we even added a fun Aussie twist by learning Aussie Jingle Bells 🎅☀️ (yes, the one with the kelpie by my side and the esky in the boot!).A very special shoutout to Santa’s little helper, Elf Eugene the miniature dachshund, who stole the show in his adorable costume – looking absolutely dashing and bringing smiles all around. 🐾❤️'Twas a day full of laughter, music, and memories – just the way Christmas (in July) should be! 🎁🎤
