I am currently seeing people online or if it isn't too far, at their house, as I left my Fremantle office in April.
The consultation process goes as follows: you fill in the Registration Form including tick boxes about what is bothering you, your drugs and your supplements. I also include a page on what you usually eat and when. The initial consultation takes just over an hour. I ask what you would specifically like to address with more detailed questions about how long you have had this problem, what makes it better or worse etc. I will ask a bit about your health history (including dental) and health issues in your immediate relatives. Further questions will likely be about your gut, immunity, heart and cardiovascular system, bones and muscles, nervous system including brain, skin, hormones, reproductive system, kidneys, sleep, exercise and hobbies. I like to measure blood pressure, blood oxygenation, pulse and look at your tongue and fingernails. Weight and height are also useful if available.
I like to see recent blood tests and can send you for blood tests however you will have to pay for them as I don't have access to Medicare. I look for results within an optimal function range rather than the 'normal' mid 95% range and consider your symptoms as well. Most blood results are available within a couple of days. Genetic testing can be very insightful though results take longer.
As for solutions, I use herbal tinctures, daylight, supplements, dietary change, meal timing change, sometimes a ketogenic diet. breathing exercises to reduce stress, brain training or less EMF exposure. I search Google Scholar and Pub Med when I don't know. I regularly check drug-nutrient interactions and drug nutrient depletions and side effects. I may suggest you get specialist advice on increasing your exercise. Exercise increases oxygenation, improves mood and reduces inflammation! If I know of someone who can help you faster and at less cost than I can I will refer you.
Sleep duration and quality are esssential to good health and I frequently use readings from a continuous pulse oximeter worn at night to see if someone's oxygenation and pulse are adequate. Though not diagnostic of sleep apnoea these results can flag the need for a sleep apnoea test via your doctor. You may need a CPAP machine. Inadequate oxygenation at night can increase weight, blood pressure, diurnal sleepiness and reduce brain function.
I am currently paying more attention to detoxification from for example mould, glyphosate, heavy metals, spike protein from Long Covid and environmental chemicals. These can mostly be tested if specific results are wanted or sometimes it is easier just to do the detoxification.
Naturopathic and Nutritional Medicine treatments are about getting to the root cause, not just about treating symptoms so the process is not like a quick one-pill fix from your doctor and will usually need effort and changes made by you which are aimed to get to the root cause and improve your quality of life longterm.
