Uplift Counselling Fremantle Ajay, MA, began his own journey in mindfulness and body centred therapies 25 years ago. Uplift Counselling uses somatic and mindfulness based therapy.

This led to a passion to offering therapy and meditation practices to others. This helps you to get to the roots of your issue, leading to lasting change.

Its my absolute pleasure to offer mindfulness and somatic psychotherapy. Its an honour to share people's journey with them. I'd like to thank Mark Steinward for this heartfelt review which I feel captures what I offer... both to those who come experiencing life's challenges and those looking for personal development.

"Ajay is an incredible therapist. I have had fantastic sessions with him. For me I was not depressed or down but wanted to work on things to make my life better, happier, more peaceful. At times in my life I call upon him to help assist me to assist myself. To help take my relationships and life to the next level. Every time without fail, with just one session I have broken through on whatever issue I brought to the table. I could not recommend Ajay more highly. He is VERY VERY GOOD at what he does."

Thanks Mark.

Hi folks
I see this as a really important issue. The federal government is using biased research to justify limiting access to natural health.

If you use naturopathy, herbal medicine, homeopathy, even yoga and massage to support your health then this affects you.

Consumer's right to access complementary medicine is under threat. The Your Health Your Choice campaign is one response.

The idea that we should feel happy all the time is pretty pervasive in our society… if we were just that bit richer, sexier, younger we would be in bliss… and its just around the corner.

So why do we feel pain? What is it for? Here are a few answers to that … depending on what is going on.

We are hardwired to look for problems…

The hunter gatherer who was on the lookout for danger tended to live longer and to reproduce, thus passing on their genes, while the happy go lucky hunter gatherer tended to get eaten by wild animals!

Not so useful nowadays perhaps? But painful emotions can be useful, in three different ways:

1. Calls to action:
Just like physical pain is a sign that something is not right, painful emotions can be a way of telling us to do something different....

Why don’t we feel good all the time, what are these painful emotions about anyway? In my work I often come across people struggling to deal with emotions...

Hi friends,
I thought I would share some of the benefits I have experienced, personally and in my work with clients, of having a mindfulness practice. Also some tips for simple everyday things you can do to be more present.

Benefits of mindfulness are to help with painful emotions that have been suppressed or that spill out in unhelpful or destructive ways

Many “positive thinkers” will encourage you to breath out all your negativity and suffering, and to breath in positivity. This does exactly the opposite....

Hi folks, I've been really noticing the difference it makes to feel grounded in your own body... and how working somatically helps enormously with that. We are so conditioned to be focussed on our thoughts that it can take some time and retraining to connect with our body and our hearts....

People often talk of “gut feelings” or “following your heart”… just nice phrases or do they really mean something? We are conditioned to live from the head

Hi everyone, this is a tool which I find incredibly helpful to stay grounded through the day, and be more present moment to moment..... I hope you find it helpful!

A great way to practice mindfulness is to check in with yourself through the day. Ask how am I feeling right now? Name it.
